The Downtown Hostel works best as a Chetumal transit base before or after Belize. The practical draw is location: it is downtown, close to the ferry for Caye Caulker and San Pedro, with restaurants, the waterfront, and transport options within reach. The rooftop terrace is the clearest bright spot, with hammocks, breeze, and space to sit outside after a hot day. The hostel also has a kitchen, free water, Wi-Fi, lockers, and air conditioning in dorms at night, though facilities can feel basic and uneven. This is not a big social hostel.
