Por el Mundo Hostel
A big shared area and work tables support both conversation and focus; active bedbugs and poor sanitation appear in multiple recent stays.

Vibe Analysis
Por el Mundo Hostel is a cheap, central Lapa base with a big shared area, work tables, and the kind of location that puts nightlife, Selaron steps, metro links, and downtown Rio within easy reach. It can be social in a scrappy way: lots of movement, different nationalities, volunteers, party spillover, and enough common space to talk or work. The physical hostel is the limiter. Rooms are often cramped, windowless, humid, and rough around the edges; bathrooms and kitchen get hit hard; and the neighborhood is lively in the “keep your city brain switched on” sense. This is a budget-social launchpad, not a comfort object.
