Santuario Getsemaní Hostel

Leider waren die Sanitär Anlagen überhaupt nicht sauber und sehr heruntergekommen. Es gab eine Gemeinschaftsküche, diese war auch nicht besonders sauber. Leider gab es Bettwanzen..

Je ne recommande pas cet établissement insalubre. Vous pouvez trouver bien mieux n’importe où ailleurs. L’hostel est très bien situé mais le manque d’insonorisation rend le dortoir bruyant et sujet à inondations s’il y a de fortes pluies. Attention, il y avait des punaises de lit dans mon lit et lorsque j’ai alerté la réception, aucune solution, ni excuse, ni remboursement n’ont été proposés. Nous avons du trouver un logement d’urgence à 22h pour ne pas se retrouver infestés.. Je vous recommande de choisir un autre établissement pour votre séjour à Carthagene ou de bien vérifier votre matelas.

To summarise: there was bed bugs, a cockroach in the sink, the bathrooms and fridge were filthy, my linens had tons of stains on them and the overall atmosphere was not super welcoming. I can't recommend at all

I really liked the stay and good value for money. However, after leaving I soon realised I have bed bug bites.

No windows to ventilate the rooms and very little space to store things. It’s basically all beds.

L’hostel est certes très bien situé, le personnel est courtois mais les espaces communs sont sales, et très peu ergonomiques. Les douches sont très mal fichues - notamment le locker. Je suis restée enfermée dans la douche pendant 25 minutes sans que qqn ne vienne m’aider…. C’est un autre voyageur qui m’a sortie de là…. J’ai aussi trouvé une punaise de lit sur mon lit…. Il y a un employé de l’auberge qui passe dans les chambres randomly le soir pour crier qu’il y a une soirée dans 20mn.

take care of bedbugs, especially in the first room to the right.. you should put your stuff in plastic bags. the staff just cleaned my bed area with chemicals but no heat treatment. I checked out, after I found two bedbugs and my back was full of bites. it was a big deal to get back my money, but finally got it.. at night the room was cold like a fridge and the street next to the rooms is super loud

For those looking for a hostel in Cartagena: *DO NOT go to Santuario* in Getsemani! In recent months, reviews have already mentioned bed bugs several times. We thought, they must have cleaned it well by now. Bed bugs were found in the bed and when we reported it to reception, they acted as if this was the first time, until we indicated that this was mentioned in multiple reviews. Then suddenly we were offered our money back. The manager has apparently known about this for a long time but chooses to change the sheets and ignores hygiene. We find that really unacceptable, because everyone who goes here has the risk of contracting bed bugs due to poor management policy. Please avoid if your clothes and personal hygiene are important to you. Furthermore, we loved the kitchen and the staff was very nice. This however can not beat bed bugs.

BEDBUGS / CHINCHES As soon as I checked in I inspected my mattress and found EXTREMELY clear indications of an infestation (including bugs themselves). I received a refund but no other guests were informed. It was extremely obvious to me that no one at the hostel had given any attention to pests whatsoever, as it took me less than 30 seconds of attention to find a bug. PLEASE review your mattress before you touch anything.

As soon as I checked in I reviewed my mattress and found extremely clear signs of a bedbug infestation. I found a bedbug (biche) itself within 30 seconds. The host was understanding and I received a full refund, but none of the other guests were notified. The signs were EXTREMELY clear -- any person who was remotely informed would have been able to identify the issue with 30 seconds of care. As such, I am left to conclude that the management of the hostal have not trained the staff in these issues whatsoever. PLEASE do not touch anything until you make a thorough inspection of your mattress!

If you wanna avoid bed bugs you better stay away. The bunk bed looked not that clean when I arrived and - after a really bad experience with bed bugs also infesting also my luggage - I checked immediately the bed and one black spot left a blood stain which was a clear sign for me to leave right away. Hotel staff was friendly but told me I need to get my money back from the platform where I booked and paid. Will see how that works.

Es hatte Bettwanzen in den Betten

Vorsicht vor Bettwanzen! Wir haben durch Zufall eine Bettwanze gesehen und haben daraufhin unsere Matratze untersucht, welche überseht mit Bettwanzenkot war. Wir haben sofort nach einem anderen Bett gefragt, sind dann aber ganz abgereist. Ein anderes Paar hatte ebenfalls eine Matratze voller lebender Bettwanzen. Es klang so, als wäre dem Personal das schon bewusst und sie kennen die Problematik, machen aber nichts großflächig dagegen. Also haltet euch eher fern von dem Hostel, weil nur durchs kalte Waschen der Bettwäsche verteilen sich die Larven auf jedes Bettlaken. Das Hostel hat aber gut reagiert und wir haben unser Geld zurückbekommen.

Pros: Staff was super helpful Breakfast included was lovely Comfortable beds and love the pods Extra toilets and showers outside of the room were nice to have Cons: Bedbugs- they treated the bed after the first night and had me switch rooms and I didn’t have an issue after that It is pretty loud with a wooden door facing the street rather than a wall and no quiet hours so loud music until late most nights I wouldn’t walk this neighborhood at night alone as a female

Horrible expérience dans cet hostel ! Nous avons dormi 2 nuits la bas. La première nous avons une inondation dans notre chambre nous avons dû sortir les sacs des coffre et les poser sur notre lit. Le personnel a mis beaucoup de temps à réagir. La deuxième nuit fut pire car nous nous sommes rendus compte que nous avions été infestées de punaises de lit. Le personnel a été vraiment de mauvaise fois, nous demandant si nous les avions ramenés. Aucun geste commercial pour s’excuser mis à part laver nos qq affaires qui ont été en contact avec le lit (même si la nuit d’avant tout notre sac avait été sur le lit à cause de l’inondation……). Aucune excuse, nul ! Après cela nous avons lu des avis sur l’hôtel parlant d’un enfumage surprise dans les chambres, le problème était donc connu de tous et non réglé !! Donc je vous conseille de ne pas y loger.
