Don't go there!!! I saw a lot of bed bugs. And the manager refuse to refund me. I had to find an other place to sleep at 23:30! It is inacceptable.

BEDBUGS!!! Do not go! Stains on all the beds! Manager is nice but this is not OK. Place is also deserted. 4 months later and still no answer from the hostel, no refund, booking.com couldn't reach them. Why this place is still listed is beyond me, as seen from other reviews it's still a dump. Authorities should shut it down.

Vibe Analysis
Hostel Dimora sits in central Agrigento, just off Via Atenea, with restaurants, bars, transport links, and the old town close by. The setup is spacious rather than polished: big rooms, large common areas, a kitchen, and enough room to read, cook, play, or disappear into a quiet corner. Salvatore is a recurring bright spot, with warm check-ins, local tips, late-arrival help, and a lot of personal attention when he is around. The historic building and creative interior give the place more personality than a plain crash pad. Wall paintings, original decor, a games room, billiards, books, vending machines, and a large TV make the shared areas useful when the hostel has life in it. The big kitchen is one of its strongest practical features, though equipment can be basic. This is a strange one for social energy. At its best, it feels friendly, roomy, central, and good value for backpackers who want Agrigento on foot. At its worst, it can feel empty, under-supervised, and a bit ghost-hostel, especially outside busier periods. Treat it as a budget base with character, not a reliably managed party hostel.
Signals to check
- Bed bugs may be a real risk; two severe 2025 accounts flagged this directly.
- Reception can be absent for long stretches, and self check-in or access-code issues can make arrival stressful.
- Cleanliness, smells, hot water, power, bathroom condition, and kitchen condition are inconsistent.
- Dorm security can be weak: room doors and lockers may not lock properly.
- It can be hard to find, and map routes may send you through rough stairways or alleys. Approach from the main street when possible.
