This hotel does not rate 4 stars; it is not comparable to other 4 star hotels. The bathroom is cramped; the bathroom door needs a serious cleaning and repainting, as does the yellowing bathroom ceiling. The day we left my wife had what appeared to be bed bug bites on her wrist. When I messaged the hotel, their response was that their fumigation certificates are up to date. That's like saying "we mopped the floor; if it's still dirty, it's not our problem."

The property was very old, was not cleaned properly at all and we weren’t told charged for the faulty iron which stained the sheet, we didn’t know. The staff were nice up until that point, where they wouldn’t hear our concerns. I also contracted a skin infection and multiple bed bug bites from the hotel towels.

El Misti Coliving Obelisco is a central Buenos Aires crash pad more than a hostel scene. Its real superpower is location: right by the Obelisco and the 9 de Julio transport grid, with the city's classic walk-and-metro moves basically on tap. Reception gets real credit too, especially when travelers need directions, a room fix, or just someone helpful at the desk. The setup feels closer to an old apartment-hotel than a backpacker hangout. Some rooms are spacious and useful for practical stays, with details like a fridge, microwave, kitchenette bits, decent beds, or Obelisco-facing windows depending on the room. Breakfast next door works for some travelers, but it is not the big buffet fantasy, and the common-area/social layer is thin. Come here for central positioning; make your social life out in Buenos Aires. The caveat stack is not tiny. Many rooms read as tired rather than polished, with recurring problems around thin walls, locked connecting doors, plumbing leaks, hot-water or AC weirdness, cleanliness, and breakfast/payment/entry friction. Best fit: short stays where location beats everything and you can tolerate a rough building. Weak fit: privacy-sensitive sleepers, remote workers who need quiet, or anyone trying to find hostel chemistry inside the building.
