The garden hammocks are a real Scorpius thing: a calm place to lie back under Vicuña skies, watch the stars when the moon allows it, and let the valley slow your brain down. The house itself feels spacious and cared for, with big dorms, comfortable beds, large lockers, clean shared areas, and a big kitchen that works well for cooking instead of pretending to. Richard, Edgardo, Sandra, and the team give Scorpius a warm, personal feel without turning it into a party machine. Local tips are a major strength here, especially for Valle del Elqui plans, observatories, transport, food, nearby hikes, Chañaral de Aceituno, and Sandra's local tours around history, scenery, workshops, and small businesses. The bathrooms and showers are a quiet flex: modern, very clean, roomy, with hot water and proper space to change or keep things dry. The location is central for Vicuña, close to the plaza, bus terminal, shops, restaurants, and the Mistral circuit, while the hostel itself usually stays peaceful. Expect more cozy valley basecamp than loud social hostel: tea, coffee, laundry access, a friendly cat, hammocks, and a lot of room to breathe.
