The climbing wall gives Campamento Nandu a little base-camp weirdness, the useful kind. This is a small, relaxed Chile Chico place with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, a garden with fruit trees, and common areas made for sorting gear, cooking, talking, or cooling down after Patagonia logistics. Juan is a major part of the place. He helps with Patagonia National Park plans, border and onward travel questions, dinner ideas, luggage storage, and sometimes transport help. The feel is warm and personal rather than polished-hotel anonymous, with a refuge/camp setup that fits hikers, cyclists, riders, and anyone crossing between Chile and Argentina.
