The hostel is perfect for young tourist! Every Night there is something planned to bring travelers together, from Karaoke to a Pool Tournament. The employees were especially nice and ensured a nice time (especially Ana :) ) I had to reduct points for cleanliness. Even though your bed was freshly made everyday, I am now finding increasing amounts of 'bed bug stitches' All in all: Great Experience and definitely worth the money #MustStay

Great place to go for socialising. However we had bed bugs in our dorm. The last night I saw and killed one on my pillow. It was full of blood. We got a full refund for our final night but not for the previous 3 nights we'd stayed in the room. The previous 3 nights were about X3 more expensive per night as it was New Year's. They offered to give us a free breakfast too. What I thought were mosquito bites, were obviously mosquito bites. I had lots. We weren't able to change rooms as the hostel was full. Instead someone changed our sheets and put a disinfectant powder around the bed.

Vibe Analysis
Milhouse Hostel Avenue is still a huge central Buenos Aires social machine, but it is not the old effortless party legend in every stay. The strongest upside is location, big common areas, rooftop/bar spaces, cheap or free coffee/tea moments, lots of activities, and enough crowd energy for travelers who want something lively and easy to plug into. When it works, it is a party-ish base with room to hang outside the dorms. The rough edges are also huge. Sleep can be a mess from street noise, doors, events, and late-night dorm traffic. Several stays describe wobbly or unsafe bunks, old beds, dirty bathrooms or kitchen, slow elevator, broken lockers/doors/AC/water, and staff response that ranges from kind to hostile. There are also multiple serious security reports about intruders or theft from rooms/lockers, so this is a place for people who actively want the Milhouse chaos and will lock everything down, not a quiet default pick.
Signals to check
- Multiple stays report intruders, theft, or weak security response.
- Some bunks are described as wobbly or unsafe.
- Noise can be heavy from street-facing rooms, doors, parties, and late-night traffic.
- Bathrooms, kitchen, and shared facilities are inconsistent.
