Bed bug reports

We were assigned room number 1. It had bed bugs! You could clearly see the red spots where bed bugs were previously crushed, you could see their droppings, and you could see their eggs in the wall ridges. I don't say this lightly. I've been around, and I had never seen bed bugs in my life (a Google search helped me identify the infestation). Since it was late we didn't meet any of the staff, and we didn't stay there. We left and found a better, clean place.

Title: Highly Disappointing Stay – Not Recommended Our stay at the hotel was very disappointing. The room was infested with bed bugs and therefore uninhabitable. We had to spend the night in the living area, as the booked room could not be used. We informed the owner on-site about our early departure, but our complaint was not properly addressed, and we were still charged for the second night. To our surprise, the owner claimed that we had brought the bed bugs into the room. This statement is not true and does not change the fact that the room was uninhabitable. If you look at other reviews, you will see that other guests have also reported bed bugs and even posted photos! The owner made the same false claim to them, which is truly absurd. The condition of the room and the lack of response to legitimate complaints raise serious concerns about hygiene and service. We strongly advise future guests to avoid this hotel to prevent a similar negative experience. We want to share our experience honestly so that future guests are well informed. During our stay at this hotel, we unfortunately found bed bugs in both rooms. Additionally, the doors were completely open and could not be locked – there were no keys or functioning locks, even if we had wanted to secure the room. We pressed the call button multiple times to get assistance from staff, but no one came to help. The bed bug problem is not just our experience; there are already other reports from guests who noticed the same issue. We want to emphasize that our intention is not to blame anyone personally. Our goal is to warn future guests and draw attention to the urgent need for improvements in both hygiene and room security. Furthermore, we are still waiting for a refund for the second night, which we could not stay due to these problems. Despite multiple requests, the hotel has so far refused to return the money. We hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously, addresses the issues, and issues the pending refund.

The place was filthy & had bed bugs. When we arrived, another vehicle was leaving. There were 2 women (hikers) that were going to stay the night. As we were getting our bags out of the car one of the women came to us and in limited English told us there were little animals in the rooms. We’re asked what kind of little animals. Ends up the little animals are bed bugs. They cancelled when they found that out. She said the people who just left had left because of bed bugs. The lady said the manager told her they were only on the 2rd level - not on her level. Our room was on the 3 rd level. When we and the 2 women talked to the guy running the place he admitted there were bed bugs in room 2 but none in room 3 (our room). We told him we couldn’t stay because of the bed bug potential. Tried to get our money back. (We had prepaid through Booking.com). He refused to give us our money back. Kept telling us there were no bed bugs in room 3. He insisted we had a contract for the room, and wouldn’t give us our money back. We ended up leaving in frustration. What a blessing the 2 women were there to tell us

Vibe Analysis
Set in the woods with mountain air and walking routes nearby, this hostel is for people who want a quiet base in nature. Reaching it can take careful navigation, and the road may be rough. Inside, the house is simple and functional. There is a shared kitchen, a common room, and indoor and outdoor seating, and the setting can feel relaxed and homelike. It also sits on the Jakobsweg, which makes it a practical stop for walkers. Rooms are basic and compact. Power sockets may be missing or scarce, Wi-Fi can be weak, and thin floors or walls can make the house noisy. Dinner can be simple, and meal prices can feel high for what is served.
