La Covacha Youth Hostel

BED BUGS! You are not allowed to stay in the hostel before official check in or after official check out. I arrived really tired from my flight in the morning and they just sent me away, although i had a booking for that day. I never had a hostel in which you are not allowed to stay for a few hours, even if you have stayed there several nights. One of the most unfriendly hostels I stayed in during my travels. And if that wasn't enough, I got BED BUGS there!! When I asked if there have been bed bugs the last weeks they lied to me and said no, but now I saw that there were a lot of reviews on google which said there were bed bugs the months before!

Bed bugs near my bed. When I informed the manager of this, I asked to change room, however I found more evidence of bedbugs in the alternative room I was shown. I was looking in the same room at a different bed with no bugs but by this time, the manager asked me to leave. Gave me only the money back that I had paid in cash but I lost the Hostelworld booking deposit which I paid for which was not refunded. I am forced to leave a negative review because the manager insisted I was not able to check anymore beds before being able to sleep on it because it was going to be too much effort for them to put the sheets back on and then asked me to leave. I'm very disappointed with this behaviour and for this reason I cannot recommend you stay here.

BED BUGS Unfortunately my bed in this hostel had bed bugs and I had a negative experience there as I got several bites all over my body and on my face. I couldn't sleep the whole night and my eyelid got extremely swollen from one bite so that I wasn't able to open my eye the whole day and couldn't really enjoy my day trip and excursion in Salta. When I told the woman on the reception, she wasn't very friendly nor helpful and she said that this never happened in this hostel before and she tried to blame me and my backpack and that I brought the bed bugs. I didn't have bed bugs before this hostel. Later I found out from the hostel owner that it is not true that they never had bed bugs, apparently they had beg bugs 2 months ago. I really hope that the hostel is taking this problem seriously and hire a professional cleaning service to get rid of the beg bugs. A little bit of poison doesn't help, professional treatment is needed. The hostel owner was very nice and very helpful and offered a lot of help, which I appreciate. Otherwise the hostel is very nice and I felt very comfortable there, it would be a pity if the hostel is losing its guests because they don't take the problem of bed bugs seriously and get professional treatment. Also they canceled my booking from Hostelworld so that I can't write a negative review there which I didn't appreciate.
