Vibe Analysis
Ostello Scudellate is a freshly renovated, very clean mountain hostel with a quiet feel and a big view. The roof terrace and small terrace bring the landscape right into the stay, with wide scenery over the surrounding valleys. The standout here is the food setup: breakfast lands unusually strong for a hostel, and the Osteria next door handles dinner well. Inside, the common area is well equipped, the dorm setup has enough showers and toilets, and beds include a small shelf for glasses, a phone, and other bits. This is better tuned for rest, hiking, and a scenic base than for a party-heavy social scene. It works well for Valle d'Intelvi, Valle di Muggio, Monte Generoso, and it may be reached from Chiasso by bus.
