Could still be good with enough luck and social skills, but not inherently social

Central Foz puts restaurants, supermarkets and the bus terminal nearby; it suits short sightseeing stops, but next-door club noise can disrupt sleep.

Vibe Analysis

Che Lagarto Foz do Iguacu works best as a central, practical base for waterfall logistics, not as a big social scene. The strongest thing here is the location: it sits in central Foz, close to restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, laundries, the bus station/terminal, and routes toward the falls, Paraguay, and Argentina. For a short stop where the plan is mostly "sleep somewhere cheap-ish and move around easily," the map math is the main win. The useful bits are simple: some rooms are spacious, the shower is often a bright spot, breakfast can be decent or good, and reception can be pleasant and helpful with local directions. The building still has a few hostel leftovers, like game-room/pool-table traces and a rooftop/pool setup that is not consistently usable. Overall, though, this reads much more as a budget transit base than a traveler hangout. The tradeoffs are real and recent. Rooms and common facilities can feel old, worn, and under-maintained; linens, towels, pillows, mattresses, AC, doors, outlets, elevators, Wi-Fi, and the pool can all be problem areas. Noise can be rough, especially because there is a club/party venue next door and sound isolation is weak. Treat it as a convenient Foz launchpad with warnings attached: good location, mixed service, limited comfort, and not the place to book if clean-feeling bedding, reliable sleep, or polished facilities are non-negotiable.
