We had an amazing stay here and loved the extra mile the staff went to to make our time there special. Would highly recommend trying the fresh fish and the bioluminescent plankton tour. However, we saw blood stains on both our bed sheets (indicating bed bugs) so slept in hammocks. Our friend who stayed in the bed has been bitten by bed bugs in a line. Hopefully the hostel can look into this issue because it’s a beautiful place and we still think was really worth going!

Pros: beautiful location Cons: BED BUGS! When we arrived we found a bed bug but first they lied and told us it was dirt from the palm trees, and when we showed them it was a bug they told us that it was a bug from the palm. The next day when we were bitten lots, they moved us to another room (with more bed bugs). There was no apology or anything - they didn’t care at all. The vibe and the staff are very weird - the staff don’t care about the guests and there are were more staff that guests that sit around the bar. The price is also very expensive and they charge you extra for everything - given how expensive it is you think they’d give you a free snorkel. Even a 15 minute plankton tour was 60k each (which to be fair was really cool - but was advertised as 30 minutes and was far less). It just feels like you are there as a cash cow. The boat trip is £50 per person return to get there. DO NOT GO ON THE FREE ISLAND TOUR - they have nursing sharks cruelly in tiny pools. Given this is advertised as an eco lodge this was disgusting cruelty. It is too much money and not worth it - stay in one of the nicer hotels around the close by islands - I wish we had done that.

É realmente uma experiência única se hospedar na casa en el água, o visual consegue ser mais bonito que nas fotos, a casa é incrível! mas tem seus pontos negativos… Pegamos só uma diária pois vimos pessoas falando que mais que isso fica cansativo e chato, e vimos também outras pessoas dizendo que a sua experiência depende muito das pessoas que vão estar hospedadas na data que você for! A segunda informação é 100% verdade e a primeira… também depende das pessoas! Demos azar pois no dia em que estivemos a maioria era parada e introspectiva, o que acabou baixando a energia do restante do grupo! Mas vimos que, tanto os do dia anterior, quando do dia seguinte eram muito mais animados! O quarto que ficamos foi o Cabruna, é muito bom, realmente o que esperávamos, cama confortável e limpa, estávamos com receio de percevejos por ver em algumas avaliações, mas não tivemos esse problema. A vista é incrível mas não tem privacidade caso queira deixar as 3 janelas abertas, pois as laterais dão vista pro corredor. Tem dois ventiladores silenciosos em cima da cama que ligam sozinhos a noite, o quarto é bem fresco e arejado. Ps.: ele fica em cima do bar, pode ser que seja barulhento nas noites animadas, o que não foi o caso da noite que passamos lá. Sinto que o custo benefício não foi muito bom, pagamos 997k cops na diária do cabruna e o custo do transporte via tranq it easy (que custa 320k cops) ou seja 400usd por uma diária, fora o consumo. Além das 4 horas de transporte As comidas e bebidas são bem caras (o que já esperava por ser a 2hrs do condinente) mas não bastasse isso, tem poucas opções no cardápio e dessas poucas, várias estavam indisponíveis. (Esse foi o maior ponto negativo pra mim) Um fator que me chateou é que disseram que não havia forma de pagar com cartão, então tive que sacar dinheiro na manhã do embarque, e quando cheguei, descobri que aceitam cartão, acredito que seja pra prevenir caso fiquem sem internet algum dia, não sei… Os banheiros são compartilhados, tem um mictório do lado de fora, achei isso estranho e anti higiênico, mas ok. O banheiro pra banho só abre em certo horário da noite, e dizem que o banho é no máximo 5 minutos, mas não tem ninguém pra controlar então as pessoas não seguem esse tempo. Não tem tomadas nos quartos, somente na área comum e tem uma placa avisando pra cuidar dos seus pertences pois eles não se responsabilizam (se tem placa, deve ter história) Os passeios pareciam ser bem legais, mas como tínhamos pouco tempo lá, preferimos ficar aproveitando a hospedagem. Se puder dar um conselho, seria pegar duas diárias e torcer pra que sejam dias ensolarados e os hóspedes dos dias tenham a mesma energia que você! Aproveitaria pra me hospedar em tintipan, assim não tornar o deslocamento tão cansativo! Enfim, acho que a hospedagem tem seus pontos a melhorar, mas não deixa de ser incrível e única! Você não pode morrer sem conhecer a casa en el água!

LES PUNAISES DE LIT !!!!! Je suis désolée mais ça n’est pas possible de proposer une chambre à 100€ et de ne pas pouvoir y dormir car infestée de punaises de lit… ils m’ont remboursé et ont été conciliants mais ça m’a malheureusement gâché mon expérience.

Our room was infested with bed bugs, even in our clothes and bags. We reported it, but the staff did nothing—no help, no refund, no excuses. Instead, they blamed us for bringing the bed bugs. Horrible experience. Avoid this place at all costs!

Be weary of bedbugs!!! I think this property is interesting and fun, but I stayed in the dorms for one night and returned w bed bug bites and have to spend quite a bit of time washing & drying every single one of my belongings to make sure they’re all dead and not traveling w me to various other accommodations. Food was fresh, but a bit repetitive - white fish for lunch and dinner. Staff was nice, but just wish there weren’t bed bugs :( really dampens the experience.

Good things: I had a good time thanks to the people I met and obviously it's a beautiful location. The highlight of the trip was the plankton tour. Absolutely stunning. There are some lockers. Food is fine, a bit small on the portion side. Toilets and shower were great. A lot has improved based on the videos I watched before going. There is WiFi and you can use card, despite what the pre-arrival email says. Bad things: 1. Bed bugs. I know they have recently fumigated but the hammocks still have bed bugs (I was in a hammock and am now covered in bites and having to deal with what to do with all my luggage) 2. No value for money. They're basically just exploiting the location and novelty of it. Even a bed buggy hammock was horrendously expensive, but I did it for the experience. But then you have to pay the boat cost to get there (which is very expensive), luggage storage because you can only take a small bag, and then national park "tax". Once there, you pay for extra tours and snacks (or meal upgrades) and drinks. I had the fries and at least they were nice and a decent portion. The boat should be included in the price or at least the plankton tour, which is the coolest part of the whole experience. 3. Customer service is terrible. Jess was lovely, but the woman on the reception was unhelpful, unsmiling and just generally unpleasant. 4.Safety. Now I know South America has a different view on safety, and having lived in the Peruvian jungle for a year I'm very lax now when it comes to H&S. However.... There is a disaster waiting to happen, then the place will shut down. How a drunk person hasn't drowned yet is beyond me. You're allowed in the water in any state at any time, there are no life rings to throw if someone is drowning. And I really hope a staff member is lifeguard and first aid trained, but I suspect not. There are some basic practices put in place, but they need to up their game and become more professional before it's too late.

This is my first ever review but this place was so bad I have to. All the other one star reviews basically cover it, but a couple things left out: - the boat safety getting there is nonexistent. Seriously feared for my life- driver was trying to beat a storm I think, but put the safety of all the passengers at risk bc of reckless driving. The boat dipped completely to one side and with a bigger wind gust, really could’ve gone over. - the biggest one: BED BUGS. attached is a picture. I asked to move beds, the staff literally rolled their eyes at me and told me to “pick an open bed then”. When completely stuck there overnight I personally was freaking out. Thus left the next 3 weeks of my trip covered in bites and had to throw away my luggage and everything upon arrival home. Logistical nightmare - Last- just want to reiterate food hygiene and lack of water. I came with travelers sickness already from tap water. They advertise filtered water but it was disgusting and absolutely tap. I only had half a bottle on me, so for 24 hours I relied on Coke to get me through. There are roaches and flies and bugs crawling all over the food in the back, and once they serve it hundreds of horse flies just hoarding all over the food. Same flies that feast in the composting toilets. Disgusting. This was the most expensive part of my trip, and the filthiest. Skip this place unless you plan on being so high and drunk that you can overlook all of this (which, by the way, owner and his friends absolutely were!)

I went with my girlfriend, and before going, there was a lot of doubt due to some comments... The instructions given before the stay were 100% aligned... We went knowing how things were and how they worked! The expectations regarding the bathroom and food were exactly as mentioned before the stay via email. However, I have a suggestion for the house management: the reception and kitchen staff were so polite and kind, so I didn't understand why the bar staff were rude, especially to men. In fact, I noticed the treatment was different when my girlfriend or other women ordered. So, a message to the bartenders: treat every guest like you treat bikini-clad women! My experience was good because my girlfriend and I knew how to enjoy ourselves... It's a fantastic and unique place, but it depends a lot on the energy of the people staying there! During our stay last week, we were the only Brazilian guests, while the rest were from various places in Europe. Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of encountering the typical rude European... In the shared room, some girls seemed bothered when I entered; I mentioned this to my girlfriend, and we opted for a private room to avoid bothering the European girls. A group of friends insisted on smoking marijuana on the second floor, which is reserved only for the rooms, despite clear rules in English prohibiting smoking in a wooden house in the middle of the water, especially as it is a rest area. Additionally, these rude Europeans left the party shouting on the rest floor and spent the rest of the night watching loud videos in the next room. Since the house is made of wood and the ceilings of the rooms are open, you can hear everything from the next room, although all of this is clearly explained in the house arrival rules. It's a shame the superior Europeans couldn't behave! If you're looking for a place to rest, this isn't it, as there's music all day long. However, at night, the music is at a reasonable volume for those who choose to go to bed early, as I did. Apart from the clueless Europeans, it was a great night's sleep with the sound of the sea. Regarding my room, I didn't see any bedbugs as mentioned in previous comments. The only complaint about the room is that the awning zipper is broken and doesn't close completely, allowing a lot of wind to enter, so we had to partially close the awning. It was a unique experience, and if you, like me, came here to read the comments out of fear, this is my account. It's a wonderful place, but it depends on who you share the environment with. I thank Lucca and the kind staff who could definitely give some hospitality lessons to the bar staff.

Beautiful location but that’s as good as it gets. Overpriced for what it is, not the best vibe and no space/area to chill in the days Some guests there had bed bugs, which other people we know experienced the week before. It seems they have not gotten control of the bed bug situation

** bedbugs! ** I stayed at casa en el agua for 2 nights with my boyfriend. We had a great time, the location is stunning, the staff are friendly and we did 2 of the 3 daily tours they offer (mangrove and bioluminescent plankton snorkelling - both amazing). Our only complaint: We read a review before we arrived claiming that there were bedbugs. We emailed ahead and asked whether they’d sorted it out and were assured they had and were “vaporising daily”. We checked our bed on arrival and spotted bedbugs immediately…. Reported it to the staff and they vaporised the bed again. They offered to refund us the full amount if we wanted to move to a different hostel but we decided to stay. We kept all of our bags/clothes outside of the room and didn’t seem to get any bites and no bedbugs in our stuff thankfully. Overall still really glad that we went! Would be 5 stars if not for the bedbugs

A beautiful place to stay - had a lovely couple of days here. A good atmosphere and amazing surroundings. However we stayed in the hammocks - we were told we could leave our bags by the hammocks and then found almost £200 cash to be missing from our bags. Told staff at reception who didn't seem bothered or willing to explore it more. Our friend also experienced bed bugs and bites in their room, and asked to speak to the manager but they did not come. The light up plankton trip was amazing and worth the extra charge, however the day snorkelling trip was very average and not worth the extra charge. Generally people felt the casa was over priced. However, we did have a wonderful time there despite the above and the staff were generally very friendly. I would still definitely recommended people to stay here due to the vibe and surroundings, just make sure you have a place to lock your things if you're staying in the hammocks and watch out for bed bugs!

Muy lindo el mar pero como en todo Colombia, es una linda experiencia pero por pocas horas, después la atención hace que la experiencia no sea buena, muy cortantes, poco amables, la ducha no funcionaba por lo cual eran a baldes, la habitación tenia chinches en la pared q te picaban de noche, es muy caro tanto las habitaciones como los tragos, no volveríamos.

Avoid it, there are BEDBUGS! My night there ruined part of my journey!
