Vibe Analysis
Alcazaba is a quiet, family-run place where Maria, Osvaldo, and the rest of the team are the main event: warm, helpful, flexible, and very hands-on with tours, local tips, breakfast, and small bits of care when plans go sideways. The rooftop and upper terraces have ocean views, with hammocks and a calm place to sit. During whale season, the balcony can even turn into a lookout. The hostel also works well for budget travel: there is a shared kitchen, breakfast is available, hot showers show up as a plus, and laundry may be available. Rooms are generally simple, clean, and comfortable, with daily cleaning in at least part of the property. The location is outside the busiest beach strip and center, so the tradeoff is more peace and less instant action. The beach is walkable, restaurants and the pier take longer, and moto-taxis make the distance easier.
