I think there were bed bugs

Malfunctional ventilation system Poor ventilation of rooms due to restricted window opening making the room very hot and poor air. Poor madras and pillows combined with rough bed linen provides discomfort. Noise from the central station speakers until 3 Am in the morning. Pay for luggage storage, unlike other hostels offered as a free service. Overall, my second worst hostel experience apart from the bed bugs in Milan.

Bed bugs in multiple rooms. They offered to switch my room twice and I kept finding them. They wouldn’t refund me and told me I wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else to stay. I booked a different hostel and I’m so glad I did.

Le séjour a été une véritable catastrophe. J'avais pris soin de vérifier, ayant déjà eu une mauvaise expérience dans un autre hôtel, pour éviter la présence de punaises de lit. Cependant, après la première nuit, les premiers boutons sur ma jambe ont dissipé tout doute. Malheureusement, le seul espace de rangement dans la chambre, qui ressemblait plus à une cellule de prison, se trouvait sous le lit. Ainsi, toutes nos affaires ont été contaminées. L'hôtel a su être à l'écoute, nous proposant une autre chambre et nous remboursant celle initiale (heureusement, vu le prix payé !). Toutefois, la suite de notre séjour a été pénible, car mes jambes me démangeaient en permanence. J'avais au moins une vingtaine de boutons qui ont, de surcroît, provoqué une réaction allergique. Nous sommes restés trois jours, et l'hôtel devait traiter nos affaires (lavage et congélation pendant 24 heures). Mais au moment de notre départ, le personnel a réalisé qu'aucune mesure n'avait été prise. Nous avons donc dû partir avec nos affaires contaminées sur le dos...

J’ai dû changer de chambre car il y avait des punaises de lit !! Attention et dommage pour les fenêtres qui ne s’ouvrent pas en grand. Pour une chambre très petite à 4 personnes il faut absolument aérer.

Huele a humedad, poca limpieza, muy incómoda la cama, salimos hasta con chinches de ahí. Terrible.

In unserer ersten Nacht hatten wir Bettwanzen in unserem Zimmer und mussten die folgende Nacht in dem selbenZimmerübernachten, da sie ausgebucht waren. Aufgrund der Bettwanzenbisse hatte ich extremen Ausschlag und zugeschwollene Augen. Trotzdem habe ich kein neues Kissen oder eine neue Bettdecke bekommen. Außerdem sind die Zimmer nicht gut gereinigt. Unter den Betten lag verschimmeltes Essen und sehr viel Staub und anderer Dreck. Es gibt viel zu wenig Stauraum und kein Platz für vier Personen. Einige Personen an der Rezeption sind sehr unfreundlich und unkooperativ, es gibt aber auch freundliche. Der Lärmpegel in der Nacht ist trotz geschlossener Fenster sehr hoch. Ich würde dieses Hotel niemandem empfehlen.

It's sad cause I always choose and recommend this hostel chain, I have been there 4 times (in different countries) but this one in Berlin I had a horrible experience and won't ever return. Bed: I'll start with the worst part, I got a bunch of BED BUG in my bed!! I've never seen this in my entire life, and this ruins my whole travel. I had an allergic reaction. Me picaron chinches me tuve q ir a urgencias. Quiero creer q me tenía q pasar si o si. El personal me devolvió todo el dinero y se notaron comprensivos. No tenía pinta de sucio el lugar yo creo q no debe haber pasado nuevamente

Está al lado de la estación central por lo que moverse por la ciudad es MUY fácil, la pieza era calurosa y no tenía aire acondicionado Creo que habían chinches El baño estaba perfecto, contaba con secador de pelo y siempre reponian el papel higiénico Me dijeron que la lavadora esta fuera de servicio por lo que no pude lavar ropa, el desayuno era buffet bueno aprox 13 euros por persona faltaba variedad en los cafes y quesos

Leider unfreundlicher, keine Sauberkeit und Das Zimmer ist für den Teuernpreis nicht wert, zu klein und leider voll von Bettwanzen. Ich und meine Familie sind wegen Bettwanzen vom Juckreiz betroffen und überall im Körper rote Flecken.

Bed.Bugs bzw. Bettwanzen. Ich zählte insgesamt 64 Bisse am ganzen Körper. Ich war schon zwei Mal vorher im Meininger am Hbf aber diesmal verhielt sich das Personal auffällig merkwürdig - ich kann mir das im Nachhinein nur damit erklären, das das Problem bekannt war. Für alle Betroffenen von Zimmer 211: versucht es mit Antihistamin-Tabletten und Fenistilsalbe, um den Juckreiz zu lindern. BedBugs leben 6 bis 12 Monate. Daher: bekommt ihr Zimmer 211 zugeteilt, dann checkt lieber gleich wieder aus. Das ist es nicht wert.

I was unlucky that there were bedbugs in the room I stayed and I had to leave at 3 am. The receptionist in the night was so rude as if it was my fault to be bitten by bedbugs.. The hotel management should do something about it, it is not the way to speak with customers expecially on a very unlucky situation. I had to wait until morning to speak with someone with better manners ( Thanks again).

Bed bugs on second night. Staff helped me change rooms.New room had cast off bed bug shells that the maintenance man (not even a REAL exterminator) tried like hell to convince me was food crumbs, which is B.S. My brother has been an exterminator for over 25 years, I'm not stupid,these cast off shell casings were EVERYWHERE.But all they send is a maintenance guy who OBVIOUSLY has no idea what the hell he's talking about. Lobby beer vending machine only takes German ID's, which is stupid.stay away

I spend a really good time in Meininger Hostel that is ideally located. The room was clean even though I fear that my mattress might have had bedbugs since I clearly have been bitten...

My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights and checked in early. The room was simple, no lockable storage and possible bed bugs.The pillows where also very lumpy and uncomfortable. they had roller blinds so it was nice and dark at least. The ensuite was clean though and towels where provided. the kitchen was small and had the minimum equipment. There was a paid washer. It's right next to the station and they had a small festival outside. Would only stay here for a night or two.

tuvimos chinches en una de las habitaciones picaron a mi prima por todos los brazos y piernas era una cantidad grande Plaga tomamos fotos y les mostramos al personal el cual no hizo nada y su única respuesta fue “son cosas que pasan “ sin darnos una solución o algo a la suciedad de la habitación motivo por el cual no recomendamos el hotel por la plaga y por el poco tacto del personal.

Maybe I should go with a "2", but it was seriously the worst place that I've stayed in Europe thus far and that takes into account the hostels. Why? Not the front reception desk - they were lovely and well informed. And, the location was great. It was the room. Sigh. First, there were no towels. But, whatever, that's an easy fix. The major problem was the bed. First, the bottom sheet was strange - rough - different than the other sheets. Second - and this was really the problem - something bit me the entire night. Gross! Not flees I think - they produce more visible red bumps. Bedbugs? Not sure. Nothing was visible by eye. I tried putting a different sheet from another bed, but that was quickly evaded. I don't think I'm crazy, because this has only happened once before - in India. At any rate, you couldn't have paid me to stay longer. My primary objective when the sun rose was to leave, as fast as possible.
