Asked for a refund due to bedbugs, they refused and acted crazy. They would rather get charge backs, bad reviews, and complaint to health department. Don't waste your time with these people, they create stress and waste your time. You will be unhappy if you deal with them.

Please, please - do desinsection of materasses. The linen looked clean, however next day after night there I found on my body bed bug. Shower is also not Marriott-kind of cleanest - but you are getting what you paying, so nothing complain on that part

The Sunflower Hostel Berlin – BEDBUGS, hidden fees, lies, and a nightmare for travellers If you’re considering staying at The Sunflower Hostel Berlin, think twice – or better yet, don’t. This place is infamous for bedbugs, dishonesty, and hidden charges. I stayed at The Sunflower Hostel Berlin in a double room and ended up bitten all over by bedbugs (and I’m not the first – just search: The Sunflower Hostel Berlin bedbugs, and you’ll see dozens of similar reviews). When I reported it, the staff at The Sunflower Hostel Berlin put on a fake inspection and lied straight to my face, blaming mosquitoes ! They refused to change my mattress, my room, or offer a refund. The truth? My GP confirmed the bites were clearly from bedbugs, not mosquitoes. Because of The Sunflower Hostel Berlin, I had to spend extra money on disinfecting my luggage, washing everything at 60°C, and lived with the anxiety of possibly bringing bedbugs into my home. It ruined my trip and cost me weeks of stress. And let’s not forget the hidden charges: deposit for bed linen, fees for storing luggage, overpriced breakfast that’s barely edible. 💀 The Sunflower Hostel Berlin – where you risk bringing bedbugs home and overpaying for the privilege. 💀 Bedbugs Berlin? The Sunflower Hostel is the perfect place to find them. 👉 Avoid The Sunflower Hostel Berlin bedbugs nightmare. Choose a clean, honest hostel instead!

Había chinches, necesitan fumigar. Sin embargo, buen trato aunque la limpieza es mejorable en las zonas comunes (baños)

Great staff and great atmosphere. Location is very close to the trams and trains. The bathrooms were very clean however my bed was infected with bed bugs. Overall would recommend.

My friend got bed bugs and when she reported it the service was pretty rude. Didn’t apologise and stared at her blankly like it was her problem, and didn’t come up with any solution. The location is excellent if you want to party and the shower and toilets are pretty good.

This place is easily the C if not D choice. The WiFi never worked once, bed bugs are real possibility here. The staff felt annoyed if you asked them anything, they were more interesting in hitting on fellow travelers. Never again man

Got a bunch of bug bites after staying there which in pretty sure they’re bed bugs and my room specifically had a very strong rancid smell that you could smell before you even opened the door😬

Ostello sporco: prese le cimici da letto lì.. 😕 Il parco di fronte la notte fa paura. Andate in altre strutture.

I would love to give this hostel a five star, but unfortunately I got bed bugs 🥲🥲 the staff and the other hostel mates I met here were so lovely and it felt like home. Except for the morning I woke up with the dreaded bites on my ankles and my arms. I alerted the staff and the women working the desk was so kind. However, since the morning, they didn’t offer much compensation except for a free breakfast. The next few days of my trip were filled with itching my ankles until they bled, which was a major bummer

Vibe Analysis
Sunflower Hostel is built for nights out: it sits close to transit, clubs, and a lot of food spots, and the bar downstairs can stay lively late. There is a social feel in the common spaces and outside area, with cheap drinks and an easy base for moving around the city. The tradeoff is comfort. Noise carries through the building, beds can be very squeaky, and capsule rooms can run hot when ventilation does not keep up. Bathroom setups are basic, with some showers feeling exposed and not enough space or privacy. The practical side is mixed. Some rooms are spacious and the kitchen can be useful, but cleanliness, lockers, check-in timing, luggage handling, and card access can be uneven. It works more as a functional stop near the action than as a quiet place to unwind.
Signals to check
- Can be very loud late at night.
- Capsules and rooms can get hot when ventilation falls short.
- Bathroom privacy is limited in some areas.
