Overall, good for price if you are looking for a place to stay with almost no AC, there are no owner during the night and no one to open the AC. With no AC, there are also lots of mosquito. You even can hear outside sound during the night, so don't expect to have comfortable night sleeping there. Also, not all capsule are in good condition. There's bed bug too. PS: remember earlier when I said there are no owner during night? Yeah apparently, if people come during night, they were given the door key to enter the capsule which means theres no security for your belonging. I've lost a pair of Adidas there and I've heard some people even lost like 300 SGD. Guess what, the owner wont even compensate for any losses or damages during your stay there. Final word, stay there if you have nothing to lose.

Vibe Analysis

The capsule beds are the main hook here: private pod-style bunks with colored ambient lights, mirrors, ventilation controls, charging points, and a slightly sci-fi feel when the hardware is working. Some capsules feel clean, quiet, and cozy, with enough privacy for a cheap sleep in Johor Bahru. Pelangi Capsule Hostel sits in Taman Pelangi, with food stalls, restaurants, shops, a laundromat, and a 7-Eleven nearby. It can work as a low-cost one-night base, especially for travelers trying to avoid Singapore prices. This is not a polished capsule hotel. The setup can feel unattended, with WhatsApp-based check-in, limited visible staff, little social atmosphere, and small common areas. Bathrooms and the kitchen are a serious weak spot, and maintenance is uneven: pod doors, USB ports, air-conditioning, ladders, sockets, and locks may not work properly. The best fit is a budget traveler who wants the novelty and privacy of a capsule, plans to be out most of the time, and can tolerate rough edges. Anyone needing reliable cleanliness, front-desk help, secure luggage storage, or a relaxed social hostel vibe should be careful.
