    This is a dirty hostel, with NO HOT WATER (this should be advertised!). So unclean, and we had male staff walking in and out of our female-only room with no warning. Not secure. I also got food poisoning from the breakfast, and when I told staff, they just looked at me like I was the problem, not the poor hygiene standards. I hadn’t been that unwell in 2months of travelling SE Asia. The *only* reason you should stay here, and for *ONLY ONE NIGHT* is Nestival. It’s handy being close to your room.

    Our dorm and bathroom were really dirty. The whole dorm was full of dead wasps. On top of that male staffmembers came into our female dormroom unannounced. Once at 8am, turned on all the lights and walked out. Another time the staff came into our dorm, woke my friend up claiming that we hadn’t payed yet. We obviously had already payed. He called us liars. They also called us liars when we wanted to pick up our Nestival bands, but someone pretending to be us had already taken them. Not our fault.

    PLEASE READ - FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. I am writing this with my heart in my hands, still shaking from the terror I experienced on January 31st. I waited until I was safely out of the country to post this because I was genuinely terrified of reprisals. That night, a guy (short, British, early 20s, blonde curly hair, fake Gucci set) was aggressively offering drugs to both men and women. He began targeting me, insisting repeatedly in a way that made me feel extremely unsafe. My worst fears were confirmed when he attempted to spike my drink. The most traumatizing part was the security's involvement. When we alerted them, they pretended to kick him out, but he was back inside within 5 minutes. When we confronted them, they didn't protect me—they intimidated us, showed us photos of police on their phones to silence us, and threw us out instead of the predator. After what happened, I started reading other reviews more closely and speaking to people on the island. It is devastatingly clear that this is not the first time this has happened at Nest Club. The patterns in other comments prove that this is a recurring nightmare and that this man operates with the absolute protection of the staff. This matter has already been reported to my National Embassy and the Local Authorities. If you are a woman, a traveler, or anyone who values their life, please stay away. I have never felt so vulnerable and unprotected in my life. They are complicit in these crimes.

    Nest Beach Club has some of the best food on the island the servings are incredibly big and totally worth the $5 price. The beach is peaceful, with lots of bean bags where you can really relax and chill. Every weekend they host Nestival, which is what they’re well known for and it’s always a fun time. The rooms are… hmm, somewhat okay. There’s no hot shower, but considering the cheap price, it’s fair and manageable. Staff-wise, it’s a mixed experience. Some staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful, while others were not very nice a few even entered our room without knocking, which felt uncomfortable, and came across as rude. Overall, great vibes for food, beach, and events, but the staff experience could be more consistent.

    Rating is based on visiting, not on staying there. Despite the negative review I actually went here a few times. Went on NYE, but only because it seemed where everyone else was going. Entrance was slightly expensive but you got a t shirt and 2 free drinks so not too bad. The issue however is that they intentionally rip you off. You cannot purchase food/drink without buying tokens first, and they incentivise you to buy more tokens by offering you a discount if you buy over 50. Tokens are $1 when you buy over 50. Fair enough this is a smart way to get people to spend more, but then as the night goes on, you can no longer buy food with tokens, only cash. This is when all other food options are closed and it’s late and lots of alcohol has been consumed, so they take advantage of this and make you spend more cash on top of the tokens being bought. Because the food costs more tokens as well, if you account for expected food when you buy the tokens initially, only to not be able to use them at the end of the night, you end up with left over tokens. The tokens then change colour for each Nestival, so after spending $30 on entrance and $30 on tokens on NYE, I was unable to use my leftover tokens for the next Nestival I attended (which also cost me $15 to attend). Instead, you can exchange your tokens for half the amount of new ones, or you can swap them for $0.50, which is a joke considering they cost $1.50 to buy without buying in bulk. The woman exchanging the tokens also acted like she was doing me a favour giving me half the amount of tokens, and was very rude. It doesn’t stop there with the scam either, as another night I went to a music bingo event. I was paying cash all night and then randomly they change their policy so no cash payments are allowed, only card. They then charge you an extra fee for using the card. Essentially, they pull lots of dirty tricks on paying customers to extort as much money out of you as they can. Not only this, but Nestival itself is really poor. The music is dreadful and each ‘stage’ is essentially the same thing. Probably the worst ‘dance’ music I’ve ever heard, which is exactly why the stage on the beach is consistently empty outside of nestival. It’s noise pollution at best. Despite this, the music bingo was good fun and the music there a lot better. People also seemed to be having a much better time dancing and singing, which should be a sign to the nestival organisers to have at least one stage that offers something different than the repetitive thud thud thud. The food options are also good outside of nestival, with plenty of options. Tastes good too.

    O Restaurante é gostoso porem um pouco caro. Os staffs eram amigáveis.     Very disappointing experience This was honestly the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at. I understand it’s a party hostel, but the music was loud even inside the dorms, making it hard to rest. The bathrooms were extremely dirty, and the staff was unhelpful and unfriendly. It was clear most of them were just volunteers more focused on partying than assisting guests. To top it off, I had to deal with someone having sex in the bunk below mine. Definitely not recommended if you’re looking for basic comfort or respect for shared spaces

    Not the best hostel I’ve stayed in. Air con not great at night so it’s very hot. Also everyone knows the code to the doors so people can easily go in and take your stuff, didn’t find this out until my last night here but security wise the codes for the door is bad as anyone could come into your room especially during nestival. Location is good because it’s right on the beach and the food is good but wouldn’t stay again

    I recommend staying here only on Saturday, when the Nestival party takes place, since entry is free. Otherwise, the location is inconvenient. Although it’s between Koh Rong’s two main beaches, it’s a 10-minute walk to the nearest restaurant or market. Cleanliness is poor in both rooms and common areas, including the beach. There’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms. Money was stolen from my wallet during cleaning hours, and the hostel offered no support. For the price, it’s just acceptable.

    The location on koh rong. Unusual approach to customer service from staff. Rude, basically. And a bit Club 18-30. Drunk kids. Slamming doors. The food was almost entirely western, not a plus point for me personally. The clientele is very, very young but their age alone wasn't the issue for me. Three items of mine (head torch, shorts, charger) went missing during my stay despite not losing anything for the past 18 months......

    It’s not the best hostel, and I wouldn’t recommend it for the nestival. It’s so easy to get into the dorms and the kodes are very easy to guess. It’s not very clean either. The staff are nice and friendly. In the evenings they have nice activities.

    We have heard a lot of people complain about staying here but we stayed for a whole week and had overall a good experience! The rooms were nice with good air-con, a spacious layout, comfy beds and 2 clean bathrooms. Obviously a perfect location for staying at nestival and they added locks to the dormitory doors about half way through our stay which is a major improvement as we had heard previously about things getting stolen out of the dorms and random people letting themselves into the rooms to use the toilets and shag in the beds! The only real negative was that when my friend’s shoes were stolen from outside the room when we told a staff member she was not bothered at all and just shrugged it off which didn’t look good for if it was something more serious that was stolen!

    I do not recommend staying here. People let themselves in and out of rooms at their own will and I came home from one night to find all my stuff had been gone through and I had all my cash stolen. Someone had clearly had sex in my bed while I was out. The facilities are disgusting, the toilet in the room was clogged with vomit for three days and was still there when I checked out. The best thing about this property is that you don’t have to stay here.

    Nice staff , on the beach Food came out different to order. (Asked for wrap & got a sandwich etc) - multiple times Dorms filthy, toilets flooding and also disgusting. Nestival - clearly not equipped to handle members of the public coming to the site, as multiple people went into hostel rooms when not staying & peoples things also went missing. Adding onto nestival - DID NOT SPECIFY anywhere that once you exchanged cash for tokens they couldn’t be used the next day for food… and then exchanging them for cash you only get 1/2 the price back. If this was shown at least somewhere around the site I wouldn’t have minded. However trying to use 13 tokens on the day of checkout on ‘soft drinks only’ or basically alcohol wasn’t possible. So that was a bit of a scam in my opinion. Hostel wise I think it’s great however serious changed need to be done about nestival and public members accessing dorms (get codes for the doors only people staying know!!!)

    We booked 3 nights left after 2. The dorms weren’t clean and it had no lock on the door so random people were coming in to use the toilet. The staff would just randomly pack peoples things into a garbage bag and take it too reception. They are so rough with it someone’s AirPods flew off the top bunk. We ordered food and it never arrived this happened 3 times!! The nestival was underwhelming. They didn’t tell anyone where to sign up so lots of people missed out on the games! So much more wrong

    The pictures made it look alright but they’re so deceiving! Not a nice hostel at all - saw a poster saying leave a good review for a free t shirt so that must be why it has good ratings. Got my shoes stolen and they did nothing about it, staff were okay but quite inattentive. Couldn’t wait to get out! Beds were so loud and shower didn’t really work

    This hostel, other than the beds being big and spacious, has lots of things wrong with it. For starters the lights don’t work in the beds, there are no locks in the rooms and I feel there should be since there is a weekly festival going on with everyone barging into these dorms. The biggest issue was the bathroom. Not only did only 3 of the 8 showers lock, but the state of them was appalling. The smell was awful and most toilets were broken/dirty. Would not recommend. But nestival was fun

    Unfortunately I had a couple of bad experiences at Nest. The beach club was great, the staff were very friendly and I don’t want to write badly about them. However, future backpackers please be careful of your valuables as I had my phone, money and bank cards stolen whilst at Nestival. I can’t blame the hostel for this, but they need to replace their CCTV which is apparently broken at the site where my phone was taken. I am writing this review to address another incident that happened a few days later by which I think Nest management have not handled ethically. I was enjoying my night, and one of their dogs bit me for absolutely no reason. One of the staff members tried to calm me down by saying the dog was their dog, and it had been vaccinated against rabies. By law, Nest were required to show me proof of vaccination, not only for my own peace of mind but to prove that the dogs on the premises are not dangerous. Not only did Nest not show this ‘certificate’ which obviously does not exist, but when I asked them to compensate the cost of the very expensive vaccines I have had to get (3 over the course of a week which have had me bed bound from side effects), they just said they hope I get better soon. I am pretty appalled at the management team’s lack of empathy and support throughout this situation. So, beware of Nest in terms of stealing and dangerous dogs because I had a hell of a week.

    Unfortunately my worst hostel experience ever. The most rude Roomate’s coming in screaming at 4am. Wasn’t able to sleep, somebody stole headphones out of my bed. They care more about partying than dealing with any of the issues. Room was absolutely disgusting even after they’d “clean” each day. Difficult to walk anywhere from this location. Had to leave 2 days early. But hey, if you just wanna be blackout drunk and eat their gross food, then maybe you’ll like it.

    Hostel was right on the beach, nice food. The dorms had a lot of room, however definitely lock your stuff away as multiple people had their things stolen. Toilets and showers didn’t feel the most clean but that’s just what you get with beach hostels with the sand being everywhere. The staff were amazing and so friendly

    You’re coming for a beach party, don’t expect luxury. The location is great, right on the beach, and just a quick walk through the jungle to town. The beds are huge, but get sandy quick. Bring a lock or rent a lock from the staff for nestival, thief’s are a thing.

    Stayed for 3 nights (fri, sat sun) Had such a great time partying! However the accommodation is very bad! The lock didnt work on the dorm room, even though we paid $5 for key deposit. Anyone could access the dorm rooms. On the Saturday during Nestival (which was really good) loads of people in our room because it was unlocked! We obviously locked our belonging in the lockers provided but thats not the point! The bathrooms in the dorms are very very bad! I couldn't even take a shower there was a small drip coming from the shower head. It was absolutely filthy. The only cleaning (that I saw) was sweeping the floors in the morning. The bathrooms smelt so bad! Ants absolutely everywhere! The bed was ok, you have a curtain for privacy. It depends who is in your room and hope that they don't bring food or drink in the dorm (to avoid rats). We saw rats around the hostel but not in our dorm. FOOD:- Hit and miss! However, sunday roast was VERY GOOD! On the Sunday afternoon at 7pm I tried to order a smoothie but the bar man told me no smoothies, only party time now! Also, our friends came to Nestival on the Saturda(they were staying in another hotel nearby) they were told there is a shuttle boat that will take them across the water to their hotel, it was nearly midnight so they asked if they could be taken to the hotel and Nest staff laughed and said what are you talking about. There was even a sign saying free shuttle boat! Nestival was such a good day though, fun games and fireworks and fire show!

    The hostel is in a great local, right on the beach and where most things are happening. It's in a nice vibe. Rooms are not very clean and I had all my money stolen from my wallet while I went for breakfast. My bad that I didn't lock but it never happened to me before in another hostel.

    Very social hostel, very party and Nestival was so much fun. Located right on the beach and they have a bar serving food so you really don’t need to move anywhere It was disgusting, so unclean. I saw one rat and there were strange smells coming from the kitchen. Some of the staff were rude too. There were cases of theft, and the bedroom doors don’t lock. I would stay somewhere else near to Nest but just come down there to socialize in the day. I did that for the rest of my stay and it was better

    Definitely a party hostel. Nice location right on the beach, but a decent walk to the main bars/restaurants. Food was really good here however, so we ended up eating in the hostel a lot. Unfortunately, the bathrooms and rooms were not very clean. Reports of mice in peoples rooms whilst we were there, also no lock on the door. No hot water. It’s right next to a swampy area so lots of mosquitoes about. They have nestival on Saturdays which is fun, but not much chance of getting much sleep

    The beach is nice and the hostel has a nice communal area. The beers are cheap and the food is good, however we were told that there are rats in the kitchen. There are also rats in the room and the lockers are on the floor, which meant the rats were eating food in people’s bags. The rooms don’t have a key, 3 people got money stolen out of their bags in a week. You can’t get phone signal or WiFi in the rooms. We left our clothes out to dry on the washing line and we woke up to find that someone had sprayed the clothes with dirty water when cleaning the path. The showers are dirty and mouldy. It feels very cliquey and most of the staff were not very friendly and approachable. I would never recommend this hostel to anyone. If you want to go to Nestival stay somewhere else.

    $600 stolen across 4 people in days. Management ignoring major issues. Also rats just run around everywhere, they blame this on leaving the doors open but no one does and their kitchen has the door open so slightly ironic. No security had to take so many people having stolen stuff to get locks for rooms and to get CCTV. Location is obviously amazing but not worth getting stuff stolen and rat problems

    Stay in another hostel nearby. Staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful, rooms are not very clean and you’re personal items will go missing. In two days 4 wallets were stolen from our room (which do not lock), we was told to lock all our things away but you can still access the locker by lifting up the mattress and moving the bed slats. Stay at a nearby hostel and walk down for the nightlife.

    Loved staying at nest Beach and the staff are amazing, foods decent and the evening atmosphere is superb. there is only two things that caused a lower feedback from me, 1st food and cigarettes are pretty expensive and some scum bag stole my macbook and spare iphone. given i had forgot to collect my bags from the bar area but that doesn’t give someone the right to rummage through my belongings and steal stuff. loved staying here but always remember to keep your things locked away

    Lots of highs and lows here. Highs: nestival obviously is a great vibe and loads of fun, as is music bingo night. Great spot on the beach and comfy hammocks and seating. Most of the staff are friendly and one was super helpful in helping with a medical emergency so shoutout her. Lows: I got food poisoning from either the hostel restaurant or the hostel beach BBQ. Bathrooms are almost always disgusting. Cold showers. And a girl got 150 pounds stolen from our room. Very cliquey but fun atmosphere

    Rats in the rooms. Theft from dorm rooms. Showers maybe 10% of them work properly. Overall, very terrible hostel. Food at the bar is probably worst I’ve had from a hostel. The volunteers are also very entitled/spoilt.

    Went there for four days over Christmas including Nestival. Nestival is good craic and the atmosphere over Christmas was worth staying there for- but the Christmas dinner was a disaster, we weren't given the food for two hours and was even worse for the second sitting. Pretty pricey to stay as a couple. We weren't given keys to the dorm so literally anyone could walk in? The place needs updating and the staff there need to be given proper accomodation and not shacks.

    Great social hostel and Nestival was so much fun!! The food is great too, the only negatives are there being no data and the wifi is not great, and you can only connect to the wifi from the common area - so no internet connection in the rooms. The doors also don’t lock so anyone can just come into the room. But I still had an amazing stay here! It’s right on the beach and has a really nice chill vibe, and lovely staff

    We already got warned from other travelers before joining the Nestival Party yesterday that there have been some cases of drinks being spiked. So we were very careful with our drinks, but ended up being spiked as well. As two solo traveling girls, this is just scary. Also at the party itself we heard from other guests, we really have to be careful. We think they did it behind the bar, as the barkeeper went somewhere with our drinks where we couldn‘t see him before he brought them to us. Luckily I stopped after one drink, because I already felt dizzy & I normally can drink a lot! My friend just had 2 more drinks and could barely walk afterwards. So please - don‘t go to this place or don‘t drink anything from the bar other than beer & also spread this, so that no one will be harmed again.
