Bed bugs or mites. Got bites all over. A week later still taking drugs and using bandages. Capsules aren’t ventilated enough. Temperature can’t be controlled.

The property is filthy and disgusting! The sheets and blanket are obviously not washed and there are bed bugs so we had to look for another place. The cheap price they advertise is so not worth it. Find some place else.

Lockable capsule pods are the main reason to consider The SpaceQ Capsule Hotel: they give more privacy than a curtain dorm bed, with card access in at least some pods and small lockers that can fit carry-on luggage. The location is the other clear strength. It is close to Central Station, light rail, Chinatown, Haymarket, shops, and airport-train access, so it works best as a budget one-night Sydney transit base. This is not a social hostel or a comfort pick. The capsule idea is fun and the staff can be kind, but the building seems run down, the communal areas may smell bad, and bathrooms are a serious weak spot, with tiny layouts, weak privacy, mould, leaks, and poor cleaning. Sleep quality is a gamble. Thin mattresses and pillows, hot or stuffy pods, noisy airflow, light leaking into pods, weak soundproofing, broken chargers, missing bedding, and limited after-hours reception all show up as practical risks.
