Kathmandu Eco Hotel is a central Thamel base with the kind of staff-heavy hospitality that makes a long travel day easier. The strongest pattern is practical: airport pickup, luggage storage around treks, help with directions, currency, tours, a restaurant on site, and a location where food, shopping, transport, and tourist errands are easy on foot. The building itself reads older than the lobby photos. Rooms can be spacious and good value, and some recent rooms were clean and comfortable, but the negative pattern is just as strong: dated bathrooms, hard mattresses, weak or missing hot water in some rooms, noise from Thamel or internal machinery, no lift, and a breakfast/service setup that varies.
