Bed bugs. Within 5 seconds of checking my mattress for bed bugs (do this for every hostel we stay at) we found a big one under the mattress. Immediately left and told two staff members why we were leaving — neither of them seemed to care that there were bed bugs. Bumped into the owner outside the hostel and he reacted appropriately and said he would look into it.
