Bed bug reports

Confirmed Google Maps
Although the hostel is located in a nice calm area and have lovely dogs and a hourse, I would not recommend staying there, since they have bed bugs. After 4 nights I do have many bites and allergic rush on my legs. Had to go to a dermatologist and was prescribed with medicine to heal it. Hope you can do something to get rid of the bed bugs in your hostel.

Vibe Analysis
A hostel horse and two German Shepherds are part of the daily rhythm at Yambolombia Hostel, giving the place a small-farm, nature-soaked feel rather than a town-center dorm factory. It sits in the green hills outside Salento, close to coffee fincas, with views, gardens, hammocks, outdoor chill spots, and a yoga room. The atmosphere is calm, homey, and quietly social. A big shared table, cozy common spaces, volunteers, and Gabriel's warm hosting make it easy to meet others without turning the place into a party hostel. It works especially well for solo travelers who want nature, conversation, and downtime after hikes. Breakfast is a real strength here: generous, often vegetarian, and usually paid separately. Free coffee and tea are available, and there is a shared kitchen that is often well stocked. Rooms tend to be simple; private rooms can be spacious, while cheaper dorms are more basic. This is best for travelers who like a rustic, colorful, slightly outside-town base with animals wandering around, mountain air, and enough social life to make Salento feel personal.
Signals to check
- The hostel is outside Salento, commonly around 20-35 minutes on foot; the road can be dark at night.
- Wi-Fi can be weak in parts of the property.
- Facilities are rustic, and isolated rooms have had bugs, mold, lock, cleanliness, or low-light shower issues.
- Food options on site may be limited beyond breakfast, so plan water and dinner runs.
