Baroque Hostel & Coworking

Me alojé en septiembre de 2023 y al mes siguiente tenía chinches en casa. Esto literal. ¿Casualidad? No lo creo

I got bit by bed bugs. But the atmosphere and the staff was nice.

Answer to comment: We DID ask at the reception whether we could change beds and we were told that it was okay. The hostel itself is very cozy and the volunteers working there were really nice. Especially the communal areas feel a little bit like you are staying in a very homey flatshare. There are several kitchens and showers, which is really nice. The rooms were really hot when we were there, there‘s no AC, no mosquito nets on the windows - so be prepared to bring some mosquito spray in the summer. Unfortunately, the owner of the place was not as nice as the volunteers. He showed up one day and decided that we could not put our clothing under the bunk beds because we were staying in a top bunk (we asked the person sleeping in the bottom bunk if it was okay for them beforehand ofc). The lockers were too small to store all of our belongings (we were backpacking), that’s why we stored some stuff in the room. The staff simply took our stuff out of the rooms without asking first, which felt really weird to us. Poor communication imo. Apparently, there are bedbugs in the hostel as well. One of the volunteers told us about it. We did not see any, but it‘s better to be careful.

I liked the design of this hostel and the common areas were very cozy and fun. Staff was also nice and friendly. But i left after 1 day because i got bit by so many bedbugs. Im still itchy from it...

Stayed one night it was more then enough. I had one of the rooms outside main building. The bathroom was unkept and with black mold. The corridor and room smelt of humidity and staleness. The worst part was that I my bed had bed bugs, which I realised only after my trip. I emailed the hostel and was basically told "no don't, we checked" with a couple of hour with no resolution. Don't recommend and would rather splurge on a decent accomodation next time.

Everything, save the location, nearness of Pukasz arena was the only good thing. Bedbugs, unclean toilet, neglected by guests as for staff, I really can't be judge of that. Everyone has its own conscience. The rooms are under city street line, so you have the feeling if being grounded under the soil with the world living above you, and you in underground world. Horrible, I left as quickly as possible. Bedbugs bites are still on me, I don't know what kind of bug was that, but I have black and red marks on me, with yeast. Never again, run away.

I stayed here for 2 nights, and its pretty good for someone who wishes to stay at a "low" price accomodation, for those who have this spirit of adventure. It was a little bit crowdy when I stayed but it's quite ok because they had 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms and several showers, also 2 living rooms, so there is plenty of space. Regarding rooms: I heard rummors about bed-bugs which I found very disgusting, but I did not have any incidents regarding bugs. There was a mild mold smell in the room. Nontheless, I had great time, sleept very well and at a great price.
