Bed bug reports

The shared dorm room has bedbugs and I woke up to being bit by them it was a horrible experience. Hostel staff should be constantly checking beds for bugs and providing safe environments for guests.

Das Personal war sehr sehr nett! Allerdings haben wir Bedbugs in unserem Bett gefunden und allgemein war es eher etwas heruntergekommen. Schade.

Vibe Analysis
Casa Azul is more calm cafe-house than backpacker circus. The strongest positives are the look of the place, the quiet residential feel, clean rooms, kind staff, good breakfast, coffee, food, and the convenience of having the cafe/restaurant built into the same house. It works especially well as a Pereira stopover, including airport-adjacent nights, or for someone who wants a pretty, low-key room instead of a heavy social hostel. The cafe setup is also the tradeoff. Some rooms open toward the dining or patio area, so privacy, morning noise, and airflow depend heavily on the room. A few room types are small or windowless and can get hot or damp. The social scene is light; if you are solo and trying to meet travelers, this is more chill cafe stop than social machine.
Signals to check
- Cafe-facing rooms can lose privacy and pick up early noise.
- Some rooms have weak ventilation, heat, or dampness.
- Parking details can be unclear or not match expectations.
- Older stays include bedbug complaints.
