My wife got bitten by bed bugs which we found one on our second to last day

The apartment itself appeared to be clean and tidy. However, the bedrooms had the bare minimum in terms of actual bedding and linen. We had to grab the extra blankets from the closet as a sheet doesn't provide enough heat during the cooler nights. My main issue is the bugs in the master bedroom. What I initially put down as being red/brown looking beetles, I now believe to be bed bugs (see attached). I had flicked one off the bedding Wednesday night, found another on a pillow the following afternoon; but the worst was finding some near me on Friday night. I promptly moved all my belongings into the lounge area and stripped the bed to check the mattress/top sheet. I found grey spots on the base sheet and was able to record one moving (after magnifying the image). Since returning home, I had no other option but to bin my pillow, hoodie, intimates and other apparel that would not survive being washed at 60°c; then put in the dryer at the hottest setting for at least 30 minutes. This is the recommended course of action from the Department of Health.

Was bitten by an insect, maybe bed bugs, ants or other. Completely denied it, but it was definitely from there, because as soon as I left that place, I didn’t get any new bites. It is one thing to not get a refund, but a completely other thing to not let me check out early, free of charge. Rooms are very small and it’s hot inside. Everything feels unclean and damp.

Bit odd that we moved rooms because of bed bugs only for a group to be moved into the same room the same day without anything done to it.

I found bed bugs in the room, was really noisy in the night and there wasn't a receptionist in check out time

Don’t book there! Worst hostel. Full BEDBUGS and my package was open by someone. They did nothing about the bedbugs, even not gave enought coin for laundry. Just BAD!

Noisy party hostel. Filthy. Messy. Bed bugs and super old and thin mattress. Impossible to sleep in. Not worth it.

stayed at this hostel long term with my partner after having car trouble, the staff here are very friendly and very helpful. the whole hostel is a big family and welcomes new guests with open arms. its a backpackers ran by backpackers, the staff arnt staff that come to work and treat guest like customers, they treat guest like friends/family. if you want some were to stay short or long term with a chilled atmosphere, this is the place, its also the place to come if you enjoy a party at weekends as the hostel always has events running with local bars and clubs. one other thing this hostel doesn't have bed bugs like other hostels in freo.
