Best Western Plus Belize Biltmore Plaza

The place is very beautiful once you are inside. The pool and restaurant settings were lovely. The grounds with all the flowers and plants is very nice. For our one night stay and our first night in Belize, we found it visually tropical and welcoming. The room had a horrible smell, like a musty moldy mildew smell. It was awful. They had a house keeper come and freshen it up, which did help, for a few hours. The bed sheets felt like sandy grit was in them and made it impossible to sleep on them. We slept on top of the sheets and main bed spread. The food service was very poor (as a food service person, I am very patient and tolerant and aware of how busy things can be so it takes a lot to say that). I woke up to so many bug bites on my legs, even after using bug spray. Hoping this wasn't from the bed, as my partner did not experience this. We had no bug problems after we left.

The property is in a great location. The food is very good and the staff in the restaurant were excellent. We have stayed here multiple times and this time the front desk staff were very rude. I was ignored multiple times when I walked to the desk. The worst part of the stay was that my husband and I both have many bed bug bites. I am a nurse and know what I am looking at.
