The worst bed bugs!!!! wholes in the celing with garbage bag to protect from rain, shower only 8 little jets working. Renovations early in the morning waking you up. No kitchen and no acces to a fridge. The location was great theres potential but it needs alot of work and love and mostly get rid of the bed bugs before you let anyone back in.

Hostal Punta El Zonte sits right by El Zonte's surf point, with waves, sunsets, and sometimes sunrise views built into the daily rhythm. The best version of this place is simple: wake up near the break, check the surf fast, then rotate between hammocks, terrace, pool, river-side breakfast, and nearby restaurants. There are two pools, plenty of chill spots, a bar/restaurant, smoothies, and easy access to surf lessons or board rentals, though surf setup quality may vary. The river-facing dining area and upstairs spaces can make it feel leafy and tucked away rather than full beach-club polished. This is a rough-edged surf base, not a comfort-first hotel. Private rooms and bungalows seem to land better than dorms. Dorm setups have ranged from basic to very bare, including attic or open-air spaces, mattresses on floors, weak locks, and renovation disruption. Come for the point break and the view; keep expectations low for polish, quiet systems, and hotel-style service.
