Bed bug reports

Confirmed Hostelworld
The Hostel had BED BUGS so we had to change hostel. And the stuff handled that very poorly. The showers were very bad and there was mold on the ceiling. The hostel was made very inconveniently in general. The only good things were the events and the location.

Vibe Analysis
Onefam Catedral is built for a social Seville trip, not a quiet reset. The strongest fit is a solo traveler who wants a central base near the cathedral and Santa Cruz, with easy walking access around the old center and a hostel rhythm that leans into meeting others. The atmosphere can be lively, friendly, and activity-heavy, with organized nights, pub crawls, shared dinners that may vary, and a small rooftop terrace for a breather. Staff and volunteers can make the place feel warm and inclusive, especially for a short stay focused on going out. The building and rooms are the tradeoff. Metal bunks can creak a lot, upper beds can be awkward to climb, and noise from common areas, doors, lockers, bathrooms, and late-night social energy can carry into rooms. Cleanliness, bathrooms, ventilation, air conditioning, damp smells, and worn fixtures are recurring weak spots, so this is best treated as a social crash pad in a great location rather than a polished comfort pick.
Signals to check
- Not a good match for quiet sleep; internal noise can be a real issue.
- Facilities may feel old, worn, or poorly maintained, especially bathrooms and bunks.
- Rooms can be hot, stuffy, damp-smelling, or weak on ventilation and air conditioning.
- Cleanliness can be inconsistent, with bathrooms and bedding needing caution.
- The liveliest social setup may matter more here than comfort or privacy.
