BED BUGS. Avoid at all costs. So many nicer hostels in this beautiful town.

BED BUGS. Need I say more. For anyone who is unaware, they will get in your stuff and infest your home unless you take everything you have traveled with and heat treat it. No business offering places to stay should ever suffer from this problem. It is disgusting, unsanitary, and about the biggest pain in the ass you could possibly travel home with. No social areas, terrible smell (even worse in the bathroom), uncomfortable beds. All excusable things. But giving me Bed Bugs is absolutely not.

When a roommate got sick and vomited, I immediately alerted the staff, who were initially sympathetic but claimed no alternative beds were available. Just 5min later, I headed back to the reception which was closed, a guest gave me a number and told me apparently they had rooms for emergencies, so I called back and was met with rudeness... the staff member repeatedly asked for my room name (despite me providing it, but I only had the room number in mind) and showed no empathy. She did nothing but complain, like oh, it's bad but ugh that's going to be so annoying for me to clean. At no point did I hear any type of apology when it was past 10pm and I'd gone to bed early because I had to wake up at 4:30am... Suddenly, a bed “magically” became available when I started being a bit more stern, but it was in a male dorm, which I suspect is why it wasn’t offered earlier. I would have preferred this option to staying in a room that smelled of vomit. Would've been nice of the staff to tell me beforehand than put me in the situation of calling back to escalate and standing up for myself. Additionally, I left with bed bug bites. Honestly such an awful experience, vomit and beg bugs, thanks...

I got thoroughly bitten by bedbugs while staying here, and the hostel made minimal efforts to address the issue. Chamonix is beautiful, but stay somewhere else!

Séjour écourté car présence de punaises de lit

Il y avait des punaises de lit dans un des lits, et après en avoir informé l'accueil au téléphone aucun geste n'a été fait la dame au téléphone nous a raccroché au nez.

Nuit blanche. Le matelas et la couverture ont de punaises de lit et des puces.

Bed bugs! Its been for 5days. Still struggling with bedbugs from this hostel :(
