Unfortunately I am absolutely covered in 100’s of bed bug bites after staying for one night at Blanco. They are incredibly itchy and sore :(

Vibe Analysis
Friendz is the Phi Phi option for travelers who want the hostel to act like the pre-game: cheap beds, direct beach access, a bar-first rhythm, and a lot of late-night noise. The best-fit crowd is here for drinks, boat-party energy, pub-crawl momentum, and easy contact with other backpackers rather than a polished room. The beach location is the point and the problem. It puts you straight by the sand and close to the bars, but sand gets into the rooms, the access can be awkward with luggage, and the building feels more like a beach bar with bunks attached. Staff and reps sometimes get people into games, shots, and party nights, so it can work if your plan is to go out hard. Sleep, privacy, and cleanliness are the tax. Music and bass can run deep into the night, bathrooms and smells get repeated complaints, and bed curtains or proper bag storage are not a sure thing. Book this for the party and the beach, not for recovery mode.
