Point positif: personnel tres aimable!

Confirmed Google Maps
I've just arrived from Europe. First day of a long bike trip. A nice comfortable bed for a quiet night in Salta. Two days later, after a few nights in my tent, I'm covered in bedbug bites. I learn from another traveler who had stayed one night that the hotel is under attack by bedbugs. The hotel did not contact me after learning about the insects. After contacting them again, I would have received no support from them. I am very disappointed by their behavior with their customers.

Vibe Analysis
Trotamundos Hostel Salta is a warm, social base with a strong dinner-table rhythm: shared pasta, pizza, asado, low-cost group meals, and live music nights make it easy to slide into the hostel crew without needing a big party scene. It works especially well for solo travelers looking for road-trip partners, Salta tips, and a place that feels relaxed rather than chaotic. The standout here is the almost-nightly group dinner culture. It gives the hostel its shape: food, conversation, guitar, local energy, and a homey patio hang instead of a sterile bed factory. The staff and volunteers are a big part of the draw, with plenty of help for tours, last-minute logistics, local advice, and general Salta orientation. The setup is simple but useful: a garden or yard with hammocks, a kitchen, breakfast, secure lockers in dorms, hot water, and an easygoing common space. The location is away from the main plaza, usually around a 15-25 minute walk, with cafes, restaurants, and nightlife nearby enough for most walkers.
Signals to check
- Bathrooms are limited, often just two shared bathroom-shower setups for the hostel, so waits can happen.
- Breakfast is usually basic, and it may start too late for early tour mornings.
- Private rooms and smaller dorms can feel cramped, with limited storage and weak sound isolation.
- Noise from the patio, music nights, reception, kitchen, or bathrooms may affect lighter sleepers.
- The kitchen can feel small or under-equipped at busy times.
- Cleanliness and bathroom comfort can be inconsistent.
