Bed bug reports

Room was crowded, dirty and run down. Mattresses lumpy and impossible to sleep on. Bed bugs had a good time that's for sure. Such a shame as the staff were so nice. You get what you pay for.

I booked a dormitory with AC and upon arrival I was given only a dormitory with fan. I complained and in return I was given E£100 back which is not enough for the heat I experienced in the room. Bedsheets are not changed unless you request it. I noticed that the bed next to me had the same sheets for two different guests. I got bitten in my legs by possible bedbugs. Check the mattress before you accept to stay. If you see red or dark spots better find another place. A lot of noise from people slamming the doors of the shared bathrooms. If you book a tour thru the hostel make sure they respect what you pay for. We were promised a minivan with AC and it didn’t work. Very old minivan with dusty seats. We paid for the westbank and eastbank tours and the driver didn’t want to takes us to Karnak because he said only Westbank. After an argument back and forth with the Agency-Hostel-Driver; they agreed to take us to Karnak. Part of the tour includes a 45 mins stop at a shop where you are expected to buy hand made souvenirs at very high prices. NEVER NEVER BUT NEVER, buy tickets from your tour guide. You are being scammed. Always buy your entrance tickets on your own.
