13 Lunas is an old wooden house in Ancud with a lot of room to spread out: warm lounges, a big shared kitchen, a garden, and a terrace with sea views that works especially well around sunset. It sits right by the Cruz del Sur bus terminal and close to the center, which makes rainy Chiloé logistics much less annoying. The social side is easygoing rather than full party mode. Shared dinners, games, activities, and long kitchen hangs can happen, while there is still space to read, work, relax, or disappear onto the balcony. The house has books, films, a guitar, lots of natural light, and a cozy lived-in feel instead of a sterile hostel setup. The team is a major part of the place: warm, flexible, and useful for Ancud plans, local tips, and tours. Penguin trips, kayaking, bike rental, hikes, and other activity options may be available, with the penguin tour standing out as a real Chiloé move when weather and sea conditions cooperate. Beds are usually a strong point, with clean rooms, sturdy bunks, fluffy towels, lockers in some dorms, and a kitchen that is big enough for actual cooking. It can feel boutique and homey at its best, but the building is still an older Chiloé house, so choose your room with a bit of care.
