Situation: Ich war mit einer befreundeten Person in einem Doppelbettzimmer, das wir Mitte August tags zuvor gebucht hatten. Das Hostel ist das billigste in der Umgebung (auch wenn manche Bewertungen es aus unverständlichen Gründen preislich mit Österreich vergleichen wollen). Dystopische Berichte über Bettwanzen, verkommene Bäder und unfreundliches Personal kann ich nicht bestätigen. Alles ist sauber, die Räume werden gleich nach Checkout gründlich gereinigt und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Hostel bietet mit Aufpreis ein angenehmes Frühstück und kostenlos Kaffee. Ein schönes Merkmal ist, dass es häufig Angebote gibt, zusammen als Gruppe auszugehen (als wir dort waren, war zum Beispiel ein Karaokeabend). Sehr gerne wieder, alle waren freundlich und zuvorkommend und haben stets ihre Hilfe angeboten. Umstände, für die das Hostel nichts kann: Es kann bis spät abends relativ laut sein (die Neustadt ist eben lebendig), aber die Fenster dichten gut ab. Im und um das Hostel finden sich antifaschistische Aufkleber. Die Bewohner der Neustadt scheinen politisch eher links eingestellt zu sein und ich befürchte, wem der Faschismus näher liegt als der Antifaschismus, der sollte sich generell ein anderes Stadtteil suchen. Ich hatte allerdings den deutlichen Eindruck, dass hier im Hostel alle gleich behandelt werden. Die Lage insgesamt ist hervorragend. Der Alaunpark quasi nebenan ist super tags und nachts zum Entspannen und es finden sich eine Vielzahl Restaurants und Cafés in Fußreichweite.
