Hola Hostel Eixample

Unfortunately, my experience at this hostel was very disappointing. The room had a very strong and unpleasant smell, and during the night it was extremely cold. They don’t provide proper blankets — only a thin sheet and some old, questionable-looking covers that you really don’t want to use. I did not feel comfortable or warm at all. However, the worst part was discovering bed bugs. After just one night, we decided to leave the hostel because it was impossible to stay there any longer. This was honestly one of the most unpleasant hostel experiences I’ve ever had, and I cannot recommend staying here.

They have an issue with bed bugs! I have been bitten very badly while being there. When I informed them they kept trying to convince me that it wasn’t the case, and they were maybe mosquitoes. Never had such a bad experience in a hostel in all my years of travelling!

A pity that I cannot give 10 stars instead of just 5 🙂 I am Dorothea from Germany and this hostel is my second home! I come nearly every weekend from Germany by flight and feel so welcome! I cannot count how often I stayed there already! The receptionists are the friendliest, most competent, and funniest guys I ever experienced in a hostel or hotel! And I stayed in many hostels worldwide. .. The manager and receptionists are very professional and 24 hours available. A big plus are the screens at the reception desk checking the entrance and common areas which ensure that the hostel is safe (I was robbed in the entrance of another hostel in Barcelona). I don't miss any amenities! The kitchen and bathrooms are big, I never have to wait for a toilet or shower. The beds have a thick curtain which ensures privacy. Fresh sheets, blankets and towels are provided at the reception and the smooth matraze cover protects against bed bugs. Everyone gets a locker with a key card which is also the entrance key. Thus, no padlock is necessary. Since my key card sometimes felt under my bed I noticed that the floor is very clean. Every night kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned and the dishes washed. There is also TV, table football, computers and even a terrace. Activities are paella nights, salsa course, beer pong etc. The bus stop is 2 min walking distance, metro just 5 min and the airport bus easy to reach in 15 min. But the most important reason for me to choose this hostel are Matteo, Paulo and all the other amazing receptionists from Italy, Catalunya, Spain, South America - and the more than kind manager of course! I will come again and again! See you soon!

4 nuits : 48 piqûres de punaises de lit sur tout le corps, le maître d'hôtel me certifiait que c'était impossible mais la pharmacie confirme c'est bien ça ! Les douches étaient toujours vraiment très sales. Le manque d'aération des chambres au sous sol : humidité, chaleur, et inconfort pulmonaire. 28 lits sans aération sur l'extérieur c'est assez horrible !

El staff mas apático y desagradable que me ha tocado, camas con chinches, cuartos mal ventilados y baños llenos de moho.

Trato telefónico muy malo, las habitaciones con muy poco aseo, igual que los baños y en las camas y sábanas hay chinches. Muy mal.
