Nicht sauber und Bettwanzen mit nach Hause gebracht! Nicht empfehlenswert!!!

Hostel infesté de punaise de lit, j'ai eu le droit à un pauvre ticket déjeuner en dédommagement !

Achtung!!! Bettwanzen!!! Ich habe im Bett unglaublich viele bemerkt und habe daraufhin die Nacht auf dem Tisch geschlafen! (Zimmer 224)

Schoon, modern hostel. Leuke bar. Wel teruggekomen met vreemde “bijt” plekken wat zou kunnen duiden op bedbugs...

***WANZEN*** Hallo, ich bin seit 2 Tagen hier und habe direkt schon am ersten Tag Bettwanzen in den "FRISCH" gewaschenen Bettlacken. Ausser mir sind noch mehrere andere Zimmer von diesem Problem betroffen. Zudem kam das die Arbeiter einfach irgendwelche Gase zur Bekämpfung ins Zimmer gesprüht haben ohne bescheid zusagen und während wir im Zimmer waren. Mfg

You don’t get a towel, you have to pay for it. You have to put the bedsheets on your bed by yourself and you have to take it off by yourself when you check out. There are marks on my legs that look like bed bugs bites, I’m afraid and I really hope I don’t bring bed bugs bach with my things to my home.

I didn’t like the fact that there were many bed bugs in the room. They bit me in a lot of places, including my face. I couldn’t enjoy the trip to this country. It also wasn’t nice that I had to ask the staff to refund at least something because i think it is the responsibility of the hostel. Moreover, i was hospitalised some time later with an infection that the doctors couldnt identify so those bed bugs might have been infectious.

The place was overall perfect, just stumbled upon some bedbugs

This place would've been a 5 stars if we hadn't found a bed bug. My friend found a bed bug in her bed, while none of the other beds seem to have any it greatly shifted our plans as we had to keep traveling but we're now scared to bring them back in our clothes. The staff acted quickly and offered us gratuities and reimbursed part of our stay but it is not enough for me to recommend this place. There was another girl in our room that wasn't there when we spotted the bed bug, we have no idea if they notified her in the end.

I was bitten by mites and bed bugs at this hostel, especially on my arms, since I sleep in a T-shirt and my arms are exposed. I stayed for two nights, and the bites started from the second night. That night, I slept from 4:00 PM until 7:00 AM the next day, which gave the bugs plenty of time to bite me. I don't believe I brought the bugs to this hostel—I'm a clean person. Besides, before I even put the sheets on the bed, I noticed someone else's hair on it, which shows how unclean the bedding was. Now I have to carry these red bites with me to my next destination. My friends joked that maybe the bugs at Wombats City Hostel wanted to travel with me, so they hitched a ride.

Placed in a great spot, the building is nice and staff are super friendly. Unfortunantly I got bed bugs during my stay here. The reason I’m still giving it 3 stars is because of how fast the staff worked to make it right. They immediately allowed me to wash everything free of charge, moved me to a different room, gave me clean towels so i could shower while my things were in the wash and gave me a free voucher for breakfast. If it wasn’t for the bed bugs its would’ve been 5/5 but unfortunantly I am covered in hundreds of bites right now.

Eu estou com várias marcas no corpo de percevejos de cama, isso dói muito e fica coçando durante semanas, sem falar nas marcas pretas que deixa na pele. Quando falei que fui picada na cama no hotel, a moça queria dizer que poderia ter vindo na minha mala, sendo que nem abri a minha mala nessa noite, porque eu só tinha trocado de quarto. Acho que ela não queria assumir que tinha insetos no local. Mas a moça foi educada e me trocou de quarto novamente.

My 4-bed room was not very orderly or clean when i got there. There were personal belongings all over the place - it looked like someone was living there. The beds are not made and you have to make them yourself. Doing so, i found what could be bedbugs although probably just some dust. But the beds in particular just didnt look very clean to me. Also the hostel is very big and loud, nice for partying and meeting people but not if you just want to sleep. All this for 27€/night. I had much better experience for much cheaper for example meininger hostel berlin.

Good central location with good rooms and facilities. Not the most social vibe, kind of feels more like a hotel but the hostel offers events like walking tours so it was easy enough to meet people. One room did have bed bugs which is a bit concerning. Otherwise i enjoyed my stay.

I had bedbugs in my bed, that was not so nice. The staff was really good to help though, although it was a bit of a hassle.

The staff is not taking the bed bug problem seriously. We stayed in our room for under 24hours before noticing bed bugs in our sheets and beds. We did get a new room but after we had been evacuated there, a new clueless customer was sent there with us. We did get to do our laundry for free but it did take us the rest of our day which we couldve been spending seeing the city itself, for what we came for at all in the first place. Even though the hostel seems great for other parts but what comes to the safety precautions to stop this problem, please, do not visit it. This problem wont stop before they really start taking it seriously.

Beware of BED BUGS! I stayed at this hostel in September and the room was very hot because it doesn’t have air conditioning. In fact, one of my roommates left after the first night because she couldn't stand the heat. They provide fans. The bed is a regular bunk bed and it shakes a lot, which made it really hard for me to sleep. There are no curtains for privacy or to block out the light. The room has a bathroom with a toilet and shower together, which can be tricky. And worst of all, bed bugs. I was bitten all over my body and it was hell because it itched so much. I ignored the other reviews that mentioned this and I regretted it a lot. To make up for it, they changed our room and we were allowed to wash our clothes for free, but I wasted a lot of time doing that. The hostel is in a good location.

2nd day into our trip we were told our room had bedbugs. Then had to move room and wash all our clothes which was time consuming and inconvenient. Didn’t have peace of mind our new room would be clean either. Staff were nice and understanding but we were left concerned about the hygiene and cleanliness of the hostel overall. Got refunded for 1 out of 3 nights. Our food was thrown out despite being labelled, rooms were quite hot as no air con. Good live music but money grab hostel in general.

Worst hostel I've ever stayed at!! The location was far from city centre, there was no air conditioning which made it IMPOSSIBLE to sleep comfortably, there was NO ventilation in the washrooms so they always smelled moldy and humid, everything was a money grab (washer + dryer (8€), luggage storage not complimentary!), and you had to put on/take off your own sheets yourself. On top of everything there were bed bugs in my room :) 0/10 - sleeping on the street would've been cleaner and better.

The staff, the location, and the breakfast buffet were all great. The (huge) downside for me were the bedbugs. I got bites on my arms after my first night there and kept having the even after i left. Sadly Vienna was not the last stop of my trip which meant I had bed bugs with me for a whole week. I will not be going back here.

Terrible rooms. Bed bugs in the beds, no ac, it was SCORCHING hot. Outside was way colder than inside, felt like sleeping in a sauna. The bar area was cool but i would never stay here again.

Great hostel, friendly staff, has a bar and a cafe. they have events on in the evenings which is good for meeting people. Witnessed first hand their bed bug policy when a girl in my room found a bug (not necessarily a bed bug) and they moved us all to a new room, paid for us to wash all our fabrics and gave us free breakfasts. Close to the centre of venice, lovely bathrooms.

the location was out of the city centre. My roommate also got bed bugs but we were unsure if it was from her previous hostel or here because no one else in the room had it.

OK pour une auberge même si propreté et gestion de la cuisine mauvaises. NOTRE CAS : changement de chambre (punaises de lits). Gestion inefficace. Prévenues à 21h30 alors que 2 filles ont quittés la chambre à 1h. On nous a laissé dormir dans ces lits ! Pas de nouvelle chambre avant lavage de toutes nos affaires (présenté comme un bon point). Personnel compréhensif mais aucun dédommagement (sauf petit déjeuner : 6€) alors que lessives toute la nuit (nuit payée) car départ tôt le lendemain…

Excellent property in a great location, with kind staff and a great atmosphere. It was almost perfect... except for the bedbugs I got from their bed. I think it's really important that they use disinfectant to clean out each bed before another person uses it.

Lovely place to stay. Spacious rooms. common sitting area is comfortable if you arrive early or wanna wait there till your departure. Airy rooms with big windows. Well equiped kitchen and lovely dinning area. It takes a bit of walking for the old town. If you have a buss pass then you need not worry about it as the stop is nearby. Although I developed some rashes on my skin as I returned, as doctor confirmed its from the bedbugs bite I would highly recommend the hostel to do pest control on priority. Except this the overall stay was comfortable.

Las partes comunes son muy agradables y está bien situado pero me he ido con muy mala sensación. En mi última noche me comunicaron que en mi habitación había chinches y que tenía que cambiar de habitación. Hasta ahí, lógico. Me dieron dinero para lavar y secar mi ropa (la secadora no funcionaba y volaba al día siguiente, así que me tuve que llevar toda la ropa húmeda). No me dieron la llave de mi habitación nueva hasta que no terminó la lavadora. Como me quejé lo único que se les ocurrió fue invitarme a una cerveza, la rechacé y luego me dieron un ticket para desayunar gratis. Después del cambio de habitación me desperté con picaduras de chinches en la pierna izquierda. Lo único que se me dijo en recepción es que lo sentían. Deberían haberme devuelto el dinero de esa noche como mínimo.

Nous avons eu des punaises de lit dans notre chambre. Nous avons signalé ce problème à l'accueil : l'auberge nous a offert le lavage de nos vêtements, changé de chambre, offert quelques bières et une partie du prix du séjour. Nous aurions aimé ne pas avoir eu ce genre de soucis pour profiter pleinement de notre séjour bien que la réaction de l'auberge était appropriée. L'auberge est plutôt sympathique avec un bar très fréquenté.

DO NOT STAY!! BEDBUGS !!!

Eigentlich nicht schlecht für den Preis bei der Lage. Die Zimmer sind zwar nicht groß aber das ist ja kein Problem wenn man den ganzen Tag unterwegs ist und nur schläft. Auch das kostenlose WLAN ist auf jeden Fall ein Pluspunkt. Allerdings hatten wir in mehreren Zimmern (Tutoriumsfahrt mit dem Geschichte LK) Bettwanzen, unter Anderem war auch in meinem Bett eine. Der Toaster war am ersten Morgen noch da, ging aber dann scheinbar kaputt und für den Rest der Woche konnte man das Toastbrot nur ungetoastet Essen oder musste sich etwas anderes nehmen.

This hostel has bed bugs. When we confronted the staff we were offered 4 free drinks and a different room. The other room didn't have bed bugs but the compensation feels insufficient. Also, they responded like they didn't care nor did they seem to do anything about it.

직원들도 친절하고 위치도 좋고 시설도 좋았으나 비싼 가격과 첫날 체크인할때 베드버그나옴... 네마리나 발견 벽에 기어다녀서 사진찍어서 리셉션한테 보여줬더니 세탁비 지불해주고 방바꿔줌 옮긴방에는 베드버그 못봤지만 전방에서 옮은건지 팔주위에 물렸음 대응은 괜찮았으나 베드버그 이미 물렸고 세탁 다 했음에도 불구하고 찝찝하고 노이로제 걸릴것 같음.. 다른건 다 좋다고 해도 베드버그 나오는 숙소는 스킵하시길... 재수없음 걸립니다. 한번걸리면 엄청 간지럽고 옷 다 버려야해요.... It was good place to stay before i saw the bed bugs.... I didn't know this hostel have bedbugs. Because this hostel seems like very clean and Morden. And the people who working at desk are so kind, but this hostel have bedbugs problem. I hope they can find some solution about this problem.

BLUF: room had bed bugs, reception moved us to a different room which also had bed bugs, and collected on the difference in cost. if you are staying here, CHECK FOR BED BUGS. hostel is centrally located near a major subway line, and the nachtmarket. arrived at wombat naschmarket on 15nov. reception warmly welcomed me to the hostel, and promptly provided me a key to my room and bed (it was a 3 man room; room 311). hostel is centrally located near a major subway line, and the nachtmarket. after the first night, i woke up with welts on my skin (see photo). didn't think much of it, i thought it may have been an allergic reaction to something i ate, overly soaped sheets, etc. i decided to brush it off. noticed a dead bug next to the wall, thought it was a roach or something. the next night, my roommate asked me if i saw any bugs in the room. i said yes, and he said he noticed a big one on his bed. i asked him to show me a picture, and sure enough, it was a bed bug (see photo). he suggested we go down to reception (12 am at this point) to ask for a room change. we go to reception, and very discreetly alert the desk that our room is infested with bed bugs. the receptionist (michel, or something by those lines) told us we had to wash ALL our clothes in the washer/dryer and he'd give us the money to do it. he said he'd upgrade us to a 2 man bed, and provide us breakfast for the trouble. we then set off to wash our clothes for the next three hours. its 3am and we finally tell reception we are done washing our clothes, and are ready to move into our new room. he proceeds to tell us, very nonchalantly, that some other couple checked in and he gave them the two bed. he said all he had was a four bed and that was what he was going to give us. since we originally paid for a 3 bed, this was a downgrade for us. when we moved into the new room (309) we were too tired to check for more bugs. we went to bed. the next morning, we saw a bed bug on the wall, probably retreating back into the wall. i don't leave awful reviews like this, but wombat staff needs training in hospitality management. just because this is "a hostel" doesn't mean they have more lax requirements when it comes to cleanliness. i was never refunded the extra 3 euros for the room downgrade i was given following the bed bug episode.

I would have given it 5 stars if I hadn't seen a bed bug. I saw a live bed bug. So please be aware

This hostel had extremely, uncomfortably hot rooms. We later learned that this is because heat kills bed bugs (and almost us). A girl in our room had been moved 3 times because she kept finding bed bugs in her bedding. Trying to escape from the heat of our room, we went to cook. The kitchen had the same heat and lack of cooking utensils I imagine the sun itself to posses. There was no freezer or oven, only a warm fridge and a hob that was impossible to navigate. In an attempt to get rid of bed bugs, I used the laundry room only for my washing to be taken out of the machine 10 minutes early and all of my socks to be stolen by some savage goblin of a person. The interior design of the hostel however was wonderful. Would recommend if you're in the market for a hot summer break.

Decent hostel apart from the bed bugs which were so bad they covered my whole body. Another few people in my room also got them. Really disappointing as I have stayed in Wombats before and it was fine- never again.
