Sax Pub Hostel

Bed bugs in the room! AC not working, and lockers cannot be locked with the basic lock I had. I left immidiately, unfortunately can’t recommend.

There were bed bugs in the hostel and I was bitten up very badly. They refused to tell me because 'the infestation wasn't in my room'. So I got bit badly, had to then pay extra money for new accommodations and now the hostel is not responding to my requests for a refund

J'ai réservé pour un dortoir de 4 lits, finalement je me suis retrouvée dans un dortoir de 6 lits. J'ai gentiment fait la remarque au personnel, on m'a dit que c'était comme ça. La raison est que certains dortoirs sont fermés car infectés de PUNAISES de lits !!! J'ai demandé un remboursement, je n'ai toujours rien reçu, la propriétaire m'ignore. C'est dommage car l'auberge est mignonne même si très petite, et l'atmosphère y est agréable.

BED BUGS. Don't go there. We have to clean everything now. Worst experience of my life.

Would rather camp next time. One bed likely had bedbugs as we left in the morning pock marked and bitten all over. Air conditioning made stuff damp in the room. A noticeable percentage of the bar staff were rude. On one occasion a waiter shushed me when I asked to pay the bill and continued to clear tables and bring new drinks out for 10 minutes before I went in to ask to pay again. Another example was when I ordered a beer at the bar and the guy was explaining the types of beer like a condescending snob. They made us wait 30 mins when we were trying to check in because the bar was busy even though the check in process took 3-4 minutes at most. Not all the staff were rude eg one of the bar backs apologised for the wait. the lady behind the bar and the receptionist were generally pleasant too but the rest of them were contemptible Only benefit was that it was walking distance from the centre of town. Beer was on the expensive side too. Found it ironic that it’s called Sax Pub and we didn’t hear any saxophone or jazz music while there for 3 days

I spent 4 nights at the Sax Pub hostel. It wasn't particularly bad, but it wasn't good either. The hostel is clean, there is a basic kitchen, the location is perfect, but it's nothing more than just a few stuffy dorms with worn-out beds to sleep in. Music from the pub stays loud until about midnight, so if you're an early sleeper, this place is not for you. There are only 2 bathrooms (+3 toilets), so you have to wait a bit to get ready in the morning. There is no common room or a place to hangout, besides the pub, but if you sit there, you have to order something. There was not really somebody around to ask for inquiries; the people who run the pub looked too busy to ask. I left covered in what I assume are bedbug bites. If you're just looking for a place to crash for a night and get out again, it's okay, but if you prefer an hostel with more amenities, book something else.

They have bed bugs, I tried to contact the hostel to let them know twice and never received a reply.

Bedbugs. After first night I noticed multiple typical red itchy marks on my neck and upper body, with new ones appearing after next night. There have also been some other findings of bedbugs’ presence signs in the reviews - just so you know.

Durant notre séjour nous avons été piqué plusieurs fois, par ce qui semble être des punaises de lit. Au vu des avis Google, l'hôtel aurait été infesté plusieurs fois par ces punaises.

Hostel with signs of bedbugs everywhere. I even killed one alive bedbug on my own. They gave me different room, where were even killed bedbugs with blood on the wall. So I left and rent a room in another hostel. Cannot recommend before they deep clean the rooms.

encountered two bed bugs, door to our room was broken so it wouldn't close. also the kitchen didn't have a dish rack so the cabinet smelled like mould because people put wet dishes there. apart from that the place was nice, great location and a spacious kitchen. hot shower and good water pressure.

N'y allez pas c'est infesté de punaises de lit et par mail ils vous mentent en disant que tout a été désinfecté et nettoyé, c'est faux. Vous aller vous faire piquer et risquer d'en ramener chez vous.

We arrived at the hotel on Thursday 22nd August. The hotel is very well located has nice rooms with a nice kitchen and terrace. However we had read in the comments that there were bed bugs. As a precaution we emailed the hotel to find out if they had taken the necessary steps to disinfect/treat the bedbugs. The hotel confirmed that they had. We left the hotel and one of our group ended up being eaten by bedbug bites... We don't want to denigrate the hotel but I don't think they really took the necessary steps to treat these bedbugs. Make sure you check everything when you stay there!

No bedbugs for us and no issues at all. Comfortable, good facilities and great kitchen. The number one thing letting it down is the staff… Really cold, not bothered and not around. Extremely disappointing

Bed bugs

This hostel is exactly as expected, its a small but great place to sleep. The bar downstairs is good and there are other restaurants on the road which are awesome. The bathrooms are fine but there isn't a lock on one toilet. People were going on about bedbugs in their reviewa but I didn't see any and had no bites. Being a small place there isn't much of an atmosphere but you can go to the pub to chat to people. I would stay again.

Het hostel lag centraal gelegen in een leuke straat. Er was een goeie keuken en een leuke pub. Echter hebben wij een paar dagen na ons verblijf bij dit hostel alle drie last van bedwants beten gehad. Nadat wij naar andere recensies gekeken hebben over bedwantsen in dit hostel is in onze ogen de kans groot dat wij onze beten hier ook opgelopen hebben (ook gezien de tijd die tussen de beten en het opkomen van de bultjes zit, die overeen komt met bedwants beten en de tijd die er bij ons dan ook tussen zat). Wij zouden dan ook aanraden goed in de bedden te kijken en de recensies in de gaten te houden hierover!!

Chambres de 4 très petites, et nous avions des punaises de lits..... comment vous dire que je n'étais pas rassurée de dormir ici. il n'y avait jamais de personnel présent, ils étaient occupés au bar

They have a bed bug problem and are doing nothing to fix it. Found one in my bed and was dismissed when I complained the following day. Apart from this it’s a good hostel, it’s in a cute area and the pub attached is cool as well as having a well stocked kitchen. But avoid it for now until they start to actually care about sorting out their bed bug problem….

Found a bed bug, rubbish left in room from previous occupant, no social atmosphere, staff too busy in the bar to help and are basically non existent, have to wait for showers and toilets, good location but just avoid and stay somewhere else

Did get bed bugs but other than that great value for money

Horrible bed bug problem!!!

Malheureusement, la première nuit a été difficile car mon corps me grattait partout. Le lendemain j'ai vu que j'avais pas moins de 100 piqûres sur tout le corps. J'ai pensé à des piqûres de moustique, mais c'était en fait une réaction allergique à des piqûres de punaises de lit... J'ai contrôlé mes draps mais je n'ai rien vu. La seconde nuit a été pareille. Je suis sûre que les piqûres venaient de la chambre/de mon lit car lorsque j'ai dormi dans un autre logement, je n'ai plus eu de nouvelles piqûres.

I really like most things about the hostel BUT I got bed bugs from staying here. Awful.

I saw some signs of a possible bedbug problem so decided not to stay. Can't really say how it would have been to stay there.

Great hostel but SO MANY BED BUGS bites all over my body, but otherwise clean and cool place
