Corral d Comedias Hostel
Bed bug reports
-
Confirmed Hostelworld
The hostal has a very bad smell of cat urine and cat hair everywhere, since there are cats living inside. Returned back to the hostal in the evening to find my bed occupied by someone else, so had to change (No staff there to ask for over an hour). Bedbugs were then found in the next bed and staff seemed to not even care when told and shown them on the bed walking on the sheets. Locker couldn't be locked as was broken. The place needs a very deep clean. No idea why such a high rating.

Vibe Analysis
Two cats and a dog are part of daily life at Corral d Comedias Hostel, so the place feels more like a lived-in backpacker house than a polished hostel. If animals make a space warmer for you, they add real charm here; if hair, smells, or pets on beds are a problem, this is probably the wrong match. The hostel has a central Guanajuato location, a friendly homemade feel, a usable kitchen, common areas for hanging out, and breakfasts that can be a real highlight. The mood can be social and musical, with volunteers, shared meals, guitar, beers, and easy conversation giving it a loose family-house energy. This is also a basic, uneven place. Bathrooms and showers are small, low-privacy, and often the weakest part of the stay. Cleanliness, smoke, noise, breakfast timing, and staff presence can vary a lot. Come for cheap, central, scruffy-social Guanajuato energy, not for hotel systems or spotless facilities.
