Not the cleanest place, and I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay. I woke up with what seemed to be bed bug bites, and the towel didn't smell fresh. The staff weren't very welcoming. The bathroom was okay, and they allowed me to check out late. It's only suitable if you need a place to rest for a few hours.

BED BUGS!!! quite a lot of them. 1 night, 70 bites is surely not the ratio you wanna have.

While the staff was very friendly with us from beginning till end, we found bedbugs on our beds after the first night and mouldy pillows which is why we left. We arrived late at night around 2am. From 6am onwards the receptionist opened and closed our door multiple times, had naps on the beds next to us, turned the air con off and opened the windows without checking in. We arrived at this hostel after 2 days of travelling and could not find rest sadly. The owner walked in and out of our rooms without knocking frequently while we were undressed, just getting changed or just got out of the shower. The place needs a deep clean. Unfortunately, I can not recommend.

What can possibly go wrong in a hostel? Can you make a list? This hostel has everything. If you have come across this place then possibly you filtered the cheapest place to sleep in Colombo. But you will end up paying much more in mental harrasments. Bed bugs - every pillow and matress Cleanliness - you will find layers of dust and dampness The caretaker switches off the AC at sharp 7am and allows to use only at night. She openly says that they are trying to reduce the bill. She will give you lessons about discipline throughout the day. But she herself plays music and news on mobile speakers. She refused to give me omlette because I said I don't eat meat. If you are planning to relax here then it is just impossible. I can write two more pages about Harrassment. I will not recommend any tourist to book here. N btw your challenge starts when you try to find the entrance. All the best.

Bed Bugs! Don’t understand how this hostel has such a high rating, it was absolutely disgusting! even though it’s really close to Colombo Fort Railway Station please avoid, it’ll save time and hassle of trying to get rid of them after leaving as they have now infested my backpack!

Serious bed bug problem. I have not experienced anything like this in a long time – many bites and days of discomfort after the stay. This needs urgent attention.

Bedbugs infestation all over the dorm rooms. Many travelers cancelled and relocated elsewhere during my stay. I couldnt sleep the whole night and went to another hostel at galle face beach. The lady at the reception is very helpful though, needless to say, but the owner of the place must reinvest in pest control services and an overhaul of the dorm rooms.

Bed bugs is there

As a hostel its condition and service is also good. But the main and major problem is the bedbugs problem. At night they are biting continuously. They need to manage this by paste control or anyhow should solve the issues. I can't sleep well.

El personal es amable pero este sitio está lleno de chinches! Pase toda la noche despierta en el sofá de la sala y aún allí habían. Tuve que pasar horas después revisando mis mochilas y matando las que quedaban en ella! Deberían hacer algo al respecto. Por el precio he estado en sitios mucho mejores y más limpios.

BED BUGS ALERT. BED BUGS IN EVERY BED. DO NOT GO THERE.

I was unpleasantly surprised they you need to enter via an underground parking lot and up flights of stairs with no clear signage. Unsettling and potentially unsafe depending on how late you're getting in. I opened the door to the hostel to find a woman lying down napping/resting on a couch. I apologized and asked if I was in the right place..Yup, that was one of the safe. I get to my bed and start to settle in as my neighbor complains of bed bug bites she got while sleeping in the bed they assigned me. She said they steamed it today, however they can easily spread to the neighbouring beds. I decided to leave and the staff gave the bitten woman trouble for telling me about the bites.

Or bug back ? なんていう極めて稚拙で低俗な冗談をかましてきました。彼らは、宿にトコジラミが出た事を何とも思っていないようです。低レビューをつけられることが怖いのか、後から来た女性には、その宿のいい所を説明したり、被害者面をして情に訴えかけていました。 ここまで不誠実で胸糞悪い宿は初めてです。トコジラミを完全に駆除ができるまで閉業するべきだと思います。旅行者を介して被害を拡大させない為にも、誰1人として宿泊して欲しくありません。

The second night I got bitten badly by bed bugs. I guess they came with the extra blanket I requested. The building looks sketchy from the outside but it's actually safe.

Bei meiner nächtlichen Ankunft musste ich mehrere Minuten Klingeln und Klopfen bis mir jemand die Tür öffnete. Also keine wirkliche 24h Rezeption. Bettwanzen im 8er Schlafsaal. Ich wurde entgegen meiner vom 6er in den 8er Schlafsaal gesteckt. Wegen der Bettwanzen bin ich auf die Couch geflohen. Nahezu keinen Schlaf bekommen.

Welp. The reviews are true. Bedbugs or way too many mosquitos which does and doesn't make sense....laid down and boom. 14 bites and I am using a sleeping bag liner with permethrin. The door to the balcony in the dorm room is open and the workers were definitely going in and out way past midnight. Oh they barely speak English. Not enough to tell me where to catch the bus to the airport. Or how much it costs. I cooked Ramen with both of them staring at me all the way til I washed the pot. Like they watched me wash the pot. Such a weird place. That was on top of waiting 15 minutes to check in cuz they just kept walking past. 137 countries in and this place may take the cake as worst hostel ever....beds are weak so any movement shakes. Idk what else but its 3am and I hate life rn

Beds had bedbugs but the host(Nila) was very kind and helpful. Loved my stay at the hostel !

O prédio é velho, quase apodrecido, ao chegar na rua já assusta. Eu não consegui dormir porque o quarto feminino estava cheio de bedbugs. Eu tinha visto comentários aqui sobre isso e perguntei antes de reservar se tinham sanado o problema e disseram que sim, mas não, na realidade vão precisar de uma dedetização bem profunda para arrancar os bichos que estão até pela parede Os banheiros são muito pequenos e dentro do quarto apertado, não dando muita privacidade Se não fosse a questão das bedbugs seria uma ótima opção para passar uma noite rápida pra pegar um trem bem cedo. A moça que administra me disse que irão tratar o problema.

I stay here with my wife for one night. Room was clean except pillow and bed cover. There are many Bedbugs around my bed we can’t sleep well whole day and night. Around 01 am i change my room for very bad situation for Bedbugs. But next room waa ok, no problem there. They proposed free breakfast, it was very tasty and fresh ( Banana, water million, bread with jelly and butter, salade, cocomber, tomatoo, jusg, tea, coffe, hot chocklet, water etc). Everything was nice except Bedbugs. I request hostel authority please solve this issue. ❤️💐

This is not a hostel for travellers from developed countries but a horror house for Indian, Bangladesh and Sri Lankan laborers. Expect your entire system of norms, values and social etiquette to collapse in mad house without any rules or respect. The biggest nightmare is the noise, expect people to make phone calls on loud speakers all the time and be prepared for non stop Indian, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi music, films and YouTube videos being played as loud as possible. It seems that usage of headphones in order not to disturb others is unheard of. I kindly requested several times people to use headphones but was with aggression and rudeness by staff members. The place is in a building which is about to collapse surrounded by homeless people and stray dogs. The only right thing is the name of the hostel which correctly indicates what you are getting there. I strongly advise travellers from developed countries who are used to well organised hostels with clear rules on what behaviour is acceptable and what it's not, not to stay here unless constant noise, spitting, shouting and bedbugs are what you want. Spend 2-3 euro more and have a piece of mind.

I booked for one night, but the experience was terrible. The room was infested with huge bed bugs, and the pillows and beds seemed unchanged for years. Despite the poor conditions, the staff expected a 10+ review, even telling me to "say what I felt." I strongly advise others to prioritize their health and stay away. The food was subpar, with unripe bananas served to all guests. A feverish person was left in the room, and without changing the room. The atmosphere was disrespectful, with some Indian guests singing inappropriate songs to a Chinese female tourist, which made me uncomfortable.as a Indian staying there..The lack of card payment options added to the inconvenience. I'm unhappy with my stay, and I suspect other reviews are fabricated. The hostel needs to improve its standards and train its staff and the tourist coming there..

찾아가긴 좀 어렵지먀 가격대비 위치가 좋으면 조식도 만족스럽습니다만.. 전 스리랑카에서 보내는 첫날을 끔찍하게 보냈어요. 도미토리를 쓰는데 제 침대 옆 벽에서 빈대(bedbug bug)가 기어다니길래 잡아서 나 빈대있음 잠 못잔다니까 같은 방 다른 침대를 권해서 이동했는데 그 침대벽에 빈대가 기어다녀서 또 잡았습니다. 이 방에서 못 자겠다고 방을 옮겼고 스탭?가족이 쓰시는 방 같았는데 아니 난 돈주고 왜 이러고 있나 싶던차에 침대에서 또 빈대를 잡았고.. 얘는 절 물었더라구요. 숙소측에선 미안하단 사과도 없고, 계속 모른척 하는 분위기고, 조치도 없고 제가 난리쳐서 침대랑 방 바꿔준게 다이구요. 이전 리뷰들보니 빈대는 꾸준히 있었나본데 조치가 없어 아쉽습니다. 잠을 안잘수도 없고 방에선 못 자겠어서 로비 쇼파에서 침낭말고 잤습니다.. 이동하는 지금도 옷이나 배낭에 빈대가 있을지 걱정되네요.. 저두 저렴한 옵션의 숙소들을 쓰는 배낭여행자이기에 쥐나 바퀴벌레 정도는 그냥 무시하는 편인데 빈대는 다른 문제고 전 그들의 태도가 아쉬웠어요. 장점도 많지만 빈대도 고려해보시길.

I have some doubts about the authenticity of this opinion, so I'll share mine. I would rather sleep at the train station than return to this hell called a hostel even once.I travel a lot, but I have never come across such a vile place. In the middle of the night I was woken up by "shooting", it turned out that one of the ladies working there entered the room in the middle of the night and started using an electric fly trap around the girls sleeping on the bottom bunks. One of the ladies started explaining that she had seen bedbugs. The employee did not ask us to get up and leave, anything - after a chaotic action, she left the room. The beds upstairs were left out of her reach, untouched 🥲 As for cleanliness - also questionable.

Washrooms should be sealed from roof to floor - an 8 bed dorm should never be subject to sh1tting noises for everyone to wake up to; I imagine it's not good for either party involved judging by the poor girls apology before the symphony started Finding the place is akin to a murder mystery exercise through a red light district I didn't get to say goodbye to auntie and thank her for the wicked omelette because she was too busy cleaning None of these points are related

Lights broken, area is really creepy. I was only there for a few hours, had a rest on the bed and bed bugs bit me where my skin was exposed. There were also staff sleeping in the rooms when I arrived. AC only goes on at night. I don't not understand the rating of this hostel. It's the worst I've ever stayed at.

First of all, to those who write reviews here: you must understand the ladies which work here (and shower motherly love on most visitors) aren't owners of this place. They're just honest workers, they don't set rules. As regarding my evaluation, well, as always: it all depends on your culture and goal. I didn't see any bed bugs. Rooms are cleaned daily. A bit more sophisticated of you will notice couple problems here, namely that toilet cabins have no ventilation, and, moreover, they're just inside rooms; so their polluted air simply mixes with air within rooms (and the windows are closed during nights cause they're without mosquito nets). Here, in the main room, ceiling fans aren't really efficient cause they're too small and their rotating speed is very slow. Hence it can be too hot during daytime. The ACs are switched on during nights, so the windows and doors of rooms are being shut up tightly. Consequently, we're forced to breath our own polluted air during night times 😕.. When 5 - 8 of us sleep in same room it means we wake up with our blood polluted by CO2 (carbon dioxide) and other poisons.. Add to this a dumpster under your windows and you can't help but agree that the physical atmosphere is not very healthy here. Now few words regarding mental atmosphere. This place is as westernized/brainwashed as most of Sri Lanka is. So if you was brought up among cultured persons, you might feel somewhat out of place here. All their rooms are mixed: for some time gents may stay in one room, while ladies - in another.. However, if newcomer lady has no bed available in "ladies-majority" room, she'll be placed into "gents-majority" room (and vice versa). Thus here both sexes are intermixed not only in corridors and on the kitchen, but sometimes even inside rooms. Drunkards (usually westerners) are allowed to enjoy even strong alcohol right here on the balcony, (that is - just in front of Buddhist temple), no objection even from head manager! 😧 (He is a man who administers this place, not to be confused with ladies who clean rooms, cook us breakfast etc., they're quite innocent). I give 3 stars because of their manager only. The ladies here do their work quite well, but they can't stop drunkards from consuming liquor here. A manager is strong man, but he doesn't use his power in a dharmic (righteous) way unfortunately. This is very strange. Even in Russia, (which is one of world's heaviest drinking country!) they don't permit liquor in hostels. Even every visitor must sign paper PRIOR to boarding that he will neither drink inside, nor come in hostel after drinking liquor outside. You see: in communist Russia, where majority of people unaware of human ways of receiving bliss (ananda) through practices of yoga, meditation etc., the rules of hostels are more pure (sattvic) comparing to Sri Lanka, which is considered Lord Buddha's country. Isn't such state of things strange? Why Sri Lankan hostel owners are so cynical? Isn't Sri Lanka an ancient cultural Center with thousands years of cultural history?
