Worst Hostel I ever stayed, room and bathroom smelly and dirty, the sheets doesn’t look very clean I wonder if they change and clean the sheets between people ! It was a homeless in my room who was leaving there ! But the worst it’s they have bed bugs ! And it was all over me and my bags ! So dirty! The manager didn’t seem to care about it I guest it booked this bed right away again for someone else without doing anything about the bed bugs ! Avoid his hostel at all costs !!!

It was an okay experience. Edit: I had already told front desk or emailed them the things I’m not satisfied with during my stay. And they just apologized and said there is nothing they can do. Pros: -Had some nice privacy -The bed had a discrete fan and usb power outlet -Ensuite bathroom was nice and roomy -They have some desks in the room as pictured -People at front desk seemed helpful enough -Provided small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash -Location seems pretty good -They do seem to have a dedicated group of staff for cleaning and they clean everyday and provide fresh towels Cons: -There wasn’t many places to sit and do computer work if it required for you to be talking on the phone. I didn’t want to do it inside of the room itself while my roommates are sleeping, and their first floor restaurant lounge was being renovated so there is no lounge at all outside of the sleeping quarters. I only found this out after asking for the lounge after I got there. -Not sure if quite hours are clearly stated enough but my roommates definitely didn’t seem to get the memo (they came in at 1:30am talking to each other at full volume while seemingly fully sober and everyone else in the room is sleeping). I texted their supposedly overnight phone number but no one responded. -The windows of the bedroom doesn’t open so it feels pretty stuffy in there. -They DEFINITELY have a bed bug infestation…. I got bites overnight and saw a young bed bug on my arm (it was absolutely a bed bug). Seems bed bugs would be easy to spread since all the beds are directly on the ground. -Not entirely sure if they had enough common bathrooms to share comfortablely. I always saw people waiting in front of bathrooms in the hallway. -Its an old building so some of the ground floor renovation smells and noises were coming up to the second floor hallway. Overall, survivable. I personally would not do it again though.

Vibe Analysis
Music City Hotel is built around music. It has a venue, rehearsal studios, a bar, and a San Francisco Music Hall of Fame display in the hallways. The pod-style beds add privacy and lighting, and some rooms include a sink, mini fridge, and desk space. The location is central and transit is close by. Staff can be friendly and check-in can be easy. Coffee, tea, fruit, towels, and toiletries may be available. This place can feel more like long-term housing than a social hostel. If you want a music-heavy stay with basic private sleeping pods and a practical downtown base, it may fit.
Signals to check
- Noise from rehearsals, parties, and other rooms can carry late into the night.
- Bathrooms and showers can be too few, and some need maintenance.
- Mattresses can be very thin or hard.
- There is little or no kitchen space or common area.
- Some rooms and hallways can smell unpleasant.
- There is no elevator in parts of the building, and the stairs can be steep.
