BEDBUGS!!

Checked in late night, there was so much evidence of bed bugs. Told the front desk, they suggested a different room, more bed bugs, they suggested a third room, even more bed bugs. Also the rooms had dust, spiders, had not been cleaned. After making me try three rooms, they did eventually give me a refund. If you're going to stay here, check the sheets and the radiators for evidence of bed bugs. Black leaving's, and red or brown splotches.

Vibe Analysis
The waterfront is the whole hook here: balconies, a dock, lawn seating, and bay or lake views can make Bayside Inn & Waterfront Suites feel like a simple Kingston stopover with a proper sit-by-the-water payoff. There is easy access to the lakefront, and fishing from the dock may be part of the stay. Some suites have compact kitchen setups with a stove, fridge, microwave, dishes, and enough room for a short self-catered break. Beds are often comfortable, and a few rooms feel clean, warm, renovated, or surprisingly cozy, with touches like a modern bathroom, waterfall shower, or a balcony catching evening sun. This is not a polished social hostel. It works best as a motel-style waterfront base for travelers with a car, families passing through, or anyone prioritizing the view, parking, and proximity to Kingston, Tim Hortons, Bella Bistro, the Legion, and nearby roads over atmosphere or consistency.
Signals to check
- Train tracks are very close, and horn noise can be loud at night or early morning.
- Room quality varies sharply; some rooms are renovated, while others feel dated, worn, cramped, smoky, or poorly cleaned.
- Maintenance issues can include broken appliances, plumbing problems, weak kitchen stocking, stained furniture, damaged doors, old carpets, and unreliable advertised amenities.
- Breakfast may not be available even when older listings suggest it is.
- Photos may show newer rooms, so booking directly and asking for a renovated waterfront room is the safer move.
- The dog policy may not cover other pets.
