Le Maje Hostel

Les punaises de lit. Il y en a beaucoup trop ! J'ai été piqué au moins 100 fois. J'en ai tué plusieurs qui se baladaient sur le lit mais ça n'a pas suffit. Je n'ai pratiquement pas pu dormir tellement je devais me gratter !

I bagni sono sempre senza carta igienica e ho trovato le cimici da letto nel mio letto alla mattina. Ce n'erano almeno 5/6 e sicuramente mi hanno punta.

Un seul mot pour décrire mon séjour :NUL. Un hostel qui ne ressemble à rien, ça ne donne aucune envie d'y séjourner, c'est le pire hostel que j'ai pu voir. Chambre toute miniscule pour 6 personnes , il ne faut mesurer 1,83m ou plus, le lit serait tout petit pour vous. J'ai été piqué par des punaises de lit,j'ai demandé un remboursement des prochaines nuitées pour que je puisse réserver ailleurs, mais le responsable ne souhaitait pas prendre ses responsabilités et a refusé en 2 fois ma demande tout en me disant qu'ils y sont pour rien... Au bout d'un moment, il fallait prendre ses responsabilités, et le responsable qui n'est jamais présent sur place, au télétravail au quotidien et même les employés me disaient qu'ils communiquent avec eux que via email, je ne souhaiterai pas travailler pour un tel employeur personnellement. .. la chambre a été traitée contre les punaises en seulement 2H, or qu'il faudrait laisser le produit agir pour au moins 24H ( Ce sont des sociétés spécialisées qui le disent). Literie déplorable, et rien ne donne envie de séjourner au sein de cet établissement. Un seul point positif : L'emplacement, il est tout près de la gare St Roch et les réceptionnistes sont très gentils et sympas aussi. À fuir !

Not sure how can be allowed to make rooms so small to put this many people in there, we not rats sorry… Literally cannot walk in room front side, need walk sideways. Also who’s idiot come up with putting shower and toilet in room? No sleep about the noice, , also need aircon I room if so nosy outside can’t open window, Again must just say it should be illegal make rooms this small, even can’t close toilet door without going in toilet almost, so small room.. Make decent size room please , Also not understanding nobody mention the bed bug? Also what’s up with the price? Hostels are normally 15-25€ max everywhere

Bedbugs were present in Room 7. Management seemed not to have sufficiently notified other guests in the room, and did not offer me a refund for my stay. To a layperson, this does not seem to be in line with acceptable hotel practices. Attached pictures of bedframe I woke up to.

Filled with bedbugs. Avoid at all costs

Rooms are very small and beds are also small. It looks like you are sleeping in dog’s house. Also they have bed bugs in room 12(6ppl mix). So I was bitten during 2 nights on my arms, legs and head. And these bites are very weird they are not like mosquitoes bites. So I went to local pharmacy to buy some medicine against bites.

Fire alarm went off twice the first night between 4 and 5 am. Fire brigade came and half the hostel residents standing downstairs in pyjamas and many asleep in their beds unaware. No member of staff on site to liaise with fire brigade and unlock downstairs area for fire brigade to check for fire in kitchen/communal area. All locked up. No member of staff answering phone when residents standing downstairs with fire brigade and fire alarm ringing ! After 3 nights staying there I woke up covered in insect bites all over my arms and legs. Notified the staff immediately but could not change rooms as they were full. That night I found out they had changed the duvet and sheets but NOT the mattress. It was my last night, I slept on a plastic fold up chair in the room as I was afraid to get more bites if I slept in the same bed. Staff did not offer me alternative accommodation .The owner was around reception area and heard me talking with reception staff … but never got involved! When checking out the last morning I asked to speak with him and told him my concerns and showed him my arms riddled with so many bites. He told me they were not bed bugs despite 4 pharmacies telling me they absolutely were bites from bed bugs and nothing else. The local pharmacy I visited gave me cortisone cream, antihistamines and antiseptic spray. The pattern and huge number of bites were not mosquito bites they were identified as bed bug bites in all 4 pharmacies I visited. The irony is the owner is a pharmacist but offered me no help and no solution and told me they were not bed bug bites and that they had checked my bed and found nothing. The room with 6 beds should have been emptied of occupants and thoroughly cleaned and treated to ensure nobody else suffered the pain and incredible itch from the bites. Reception staff could not give me another room but did get me ice to put on my arms which were on fire with the pain and itch from so many bites.

My husband stayed at the hostel. I booked a bed for him for one night as he was transiting to Barcelona via Montpellier. The hostel was chosen because it is close to the railway station. When the husband woke up in the morning, he found bumps on his body. At first, he thought that it was mosquitoes that had bitten him at night, but then after consideration, it became clear that these were bed bugs. Unfortunately, the beds in this hostel are designed in such a way that there is no ventilation. You sleep like in the box. Not surprisingly, there could be bed bugs. We are sorry, but we cannot give a good rating to this hostel. I am also attaching a photo showing the bite marks on my husband's body.
