Elizabeth Hostel is a very central, very cheap crash pad near Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne Central, tram stops, restaurants, and bars. That location is the main practical win here, especially for a short Melbourne stop where price and access matter more than comfort. There are useful basics in places: laundry may be available, there is a shared kitchen area, and a few rooms have extras like a fridge, balcony, table, or more space than expected. Parts of the building may feel recently refreshed, especially the lobby and common areas, and staff can be friendly and helpful. The tradeoff is heavy. Rooms can be dirty, smelly, dark, noisy, poorly ventilated, cold, hot, or very basic, and housekeeping may be limited or unreliable.
