Cache House
Vibe Analysis
Cache House is a downtown Jackson pod-style hostel with a strong practical setup: curtained beds, individual power, lamps, fans, and lockers. The beds are often comfortable, the layout gives more privacy than a normal open dorm, and the location works well for walking around town or using Jackson as a Grand Teton base. The bathrooms are a real part of the appeal. Shower and toilet spaces are usually private lockable rooms, sometimes with a sink inside, so the shared setup can feel less exposed than expected. Cleanliness is often a plus, and the sleeping area can be surprisingly quiet when the room culture is working. This is still a compact basement hostel, not a social backpacker house. The common space exists, but the setup leans more sleep-and-launch than hangout-and-meet-people. It fits best for travelers who want a cheaper Jackson bed, privacy curtains, clean washrooms, and a central location more than a kitchen, big social scene, or easy parking.
Signals to check
- No on-site parking, and street or garage parking can be annoying, limited, or several blocks away.
- There is no real kitchen setup, with repeated frustration around the lack of fridge, microwave, kettle, or food storage.
- Upper bunks and closed curtains can get hot or stuffy, especially with weak airflow.
- Lockers can be awkward or unreliable, so access to stored bags may require staff help.
- Extra fees, deposits, and towel charges may feel unclear at booking or check-in.
- The hostel is in a basement-style space, with limited natural light and a large shared sleeping area.
