Phuket still works well when the flight is cheaper or better timed: take Airport Bus 8411 from HKT Exit 3 to Phuket Bus Terminal 1, then get yourself to Rassada Pier for the Phi Phi boat. After the ferry lands at Tonsai Pier, pay the 20 THB cash arrival fee and walk into Tonsai Village or Loh Dalum for the hostel cluster.
Phuket International Airport (HKT) to Koh Phi Phi
As checked in August 2026, the public route from HKT starts with Airport Bus Phuket route 8411. The airport says to board near Exit 3: turn left from arrivals and follow the signs toward the public-transport parking area for Airport Bus FL.1. The operator timetable shows HKT departures from 06:30 to 22:30, with Phuket Bus Terminal 1 reached about 75 minutes later on the Airport Bus Phuket timetable. The HKT-to-Phuket Bus Terminal 1 fare is 100 THB on the operator's price table. AOT says tickets are bought onboard or online, and onboard payment is cash or QR with the conductor on the official airport transport page.
That bus gets you to Phuket Town, not the ferry. From there you still need an onward town transfer to Rassada Pier. The current airport sources do not publish a single through public-bus routing from HKT arrivals to Rassada Pier, so check Phuket local bus positions before committing time to a street transfer.
