I didn’t like the distribution. Other viajeros have the rooms separate from the bar/restaurant. Bathrooms weren’t clean enough and it’s almost impossible to take a shower without sweating. There were bed bugs and found a cockroach in my room. The staff was great, Julio, Andres, the ladies that cooked, except for the ‘host’ Renan and this other girl at the bar with fake contacts. Their attitudes were unpleasant, which is unlikely for a viajero hostel.

Cleanest hostel I have stayed in so far. Fresh sheets every day I was there and finally a hostel without bed bugs! Lots of activities and a variety of people staying there. AC in the rooms were nice and cold so you sleep great even though it’s super humid outside. A nice small Tv room with AC you can go cool off in during the day because it is SOoOoo humid outside. My only complaint is the shower/ sinks are outside so you never dry off from the humidity and it rains often so outdoor sinks suck

Viajero Cartagena - Centro Hostel es un hostel de fiesta en el centro histórico, con el dial social bien arriba: bar, una piscinita, actividades frecuentes y una distribución que se siente más como callejón mochilero que como hotel tranquilo. Funciona mejor para viajeros que quieren conocer gente fácil y no les molesta una multitud ruidosa. En su mejor versión es muy Cartagena-backpacker: céntrico, sociable, con mucha gente entrando y saliendo y suficientes noches organizadas para sumarse al flujo sin gran ingeniería social. Parte del staff funciona bien, sobre todo en recepción y servicio, pero la organización no es su punto más fino. El intercambio es real. Habitaciones y áreas compartidas pueden sentirse gastadas, calurosas, ruidosas y con limpieza irregular; cocina, baños, piscina, agua, Wi-Fi y aire acondicionado aparecen como puntos de fricción repetidos. Elígelo por la energía social y la ubicación, no por instalaciones pulidas ni sueño garantizado.
Señales a revisar
- El ruido es parte central del intercambio: las habitaciones cerca del bar o la piscina pueden seguir ruidosas hasta tarde, y no es un hostel confiable si dormir es la prioridad.
- La limpieza y el mantenimiento son irregulares, sobre todo en baños, cocina, piscina y habitaciones más gastadas.
- El calor, el aire acondicionado, el agua y el Wi-Fi pueden fallar lo suficiente como para afectar la comodidad básica.
- Algunas configuraciones de habitaciones y guardado generan preocupación de seguridad, incluyendo puertas que no cerraban y habitaciones descritas como fáciles de entrar.
