I didn’t like the distribution. Other viajeros have the rooms separate from the bar/restaurant. Bathrooms weren’t clean enough and it’s almost impossible to take a shower without sweating. There were bed bugs and found a cockroach in my room. The staff was great, Julio, Andres, the ladies that cooked, except for the ‘host’ Renan and this other girl at the bar with fake contacts. Their attitudes were unpleasant, which is unlikely for a viajero hostel.

Cleanest hostel I have stayed in so far. Fresh sheets every day I was there and finally a hostel without bed bugs! Lots of activities and a variety of people staying there. AC in the rooms were nice and cold so you sleep great even though it’s super humid outside. A nice small Tv room with AC you can go cool off in during the day because it is SOoOoo humid outside. My only complaint is the shower/ sinks are outside so you never dry off from the humidity and it rains often so outdoor sinks suck

The good version is very Cartagena-backpacker: central, sociable, lots of people passing through, and enough organized nights that joining the stream is easy. Some staff land well, especially around reception and service, but organization is not its sharpest trait. The tradeoff is real. Rooms and shared areas can feel tired, hot, noisy, and unevenly cleaned; kitchen, bathrooms, pool, water, Wi-Fi, and AC all show up as recurring friction points. Pick it for social energy and location, not for polished facilities or dependable sleep.
