Wonderful property and somewhere I have had saved for some time! It was so incredibly beautiful and the staff were super kind. As with any remote hotel, you are essentially trapped there for meal time unless you go into town on one of their 6 free shuttle boats per day, otherwise it is 60Q outside of those times. We really enjoyed our stay and extended. I did knock off a bit of the rating because some friends found bedbugs in Room 2 on their last night.

De locatie en het hotel zelf is geweldig. Echt prachtig. En het eten heel goed. Er waren bedwantsen in onze kamer. We hebben veel beten opgelopen en hebben een super oncomfortabele tijd gehad. Hoewel het hotel hier natuurlijk niet direct de veroorzaker voor is, is het wel belangrijk hoe ze ermee omgaan. Ze gaven toe dat ze dit probleem maandelijks hebben in die specifieke kamer en toch plaatsen ze er telkens mensen in. Hierdoor voelden we ons een beetje belazerd. Ze doen alleen aan symptoombestrijding en niet aan het echt definitief weghalen van de bed bugs. Ze gingen de boom omzagen die boven de kamer hing en de muren schilderen als oplossing, hoewel wij meerdere malen aangaven dat dit niet de manier is waarop je deze insecten bestrijdt. We hebben uiteindelijk de tweede nacht een andere kamer gekregen en wel het geld voor de 2 nachten teruggekregen, zij het na flinke discussies met de eigenaren.

Nice looking hotel, very kind local staff and a beautiful location. Sadly, the bad experiences outweigh the good ones. On the first night we found bedbugs in all the beds in the dorm. When speaking to the manager the next day, we were not taken seriously at all. We let ourselves be talked into staying (big mistake). According to the manager "we were in the jungle and there were bound to be bugs", as if we'd mistaken some scary spider or cockroach for bedbugs. So the next night I took pictures of the bedbugs as proof. After speaking to the owner the next day, the room was completely fumigated. Sadly this was much too late, as everyone in the dorm was already completely covered in bedbug bites. I have never seen a case this bad, my arms and legs look like a red polkadot pattern. We got an easy verbal apology, but nothing formal and no compensation whatsoever. On another note, after staying for a couple of days, all the people in my dorm were having stomach troubles of one kind or another. I don't know if was the food, the drinks, or something else. However, as the hotel is the only provider of food and drinks (you're not allowed to bring your own) I suspect there's something funky going on in the kitchen or the water filter.

Boatique Hotel and Marina sta tra le mangrovie e si raggiunge in barca, cosa che fa sembrare il posto davvero staccato da Rio Dulce in modo calmo e pieno di natura. Scimmie urlatrici, uccelli, iguane, rane, tartarughe e il suono fitto della giungla fanno parte del soggiorno, con passerelle in legno, verde, amache, angoli tranquilli e una piscina integrata nell'ambiente. E piu relax-e-guarda-il-fiume che party hostel. Il dormitorio puo avere buon valore, le cabine private possono sembrare stilose e comode, e i bagni condivisi sono spesso puliti, spaziosi e amici dell'acqua calda. Ci sono tappetini yoga, massaggi, kayak o SUP a noleggio, aiuto per tour e gite in barca intorno a Rio Dulce, Livingston, Playa Blanca e spot vicini sul fiume. Il ristorante conta qui perche uscire significa usare una barca. Il cibo puo essere fresco, buono e a prezzo ragionevole, con special giornalieri e buone colazioni, anche se qualita, porzioni e velocita non sono sempre costanti. La lancha gratuita programmata per Rio Dulce e un vero perk, ma il setup solo-barca funziona meglio per viaggiatori felici di pianificare intorno a orari fissi. L'atmosfera e pacifica, piccola scala e piu rifinita che scrappy. Si adatta ad amanti della natura, coppie e viaggiatori che vogliono un reset nella giungla con piscina, accesso al fiume e un po di sovrapposizione sociale ai pasti, non una scena backpacker rumorosa.
Segnali da controllare
- L'accesso in barca e necessario, e la lancha gratuita funziona a orari fissi; trasferimenti fuori orario possono costare extra.
- Non c'e cucina comune, e portare cibo da fuori puo essere limitato, quindi il ristorante puo diventare l'opzione di default.
- Velocita del ristorante, qualita del cibo, dimensione delle porzioni e prezzi possono essere irregolari.
- La sicurezza in dormitorio puo sembrare leggera: armadietti e stanze condivise chiudibili potrebbero non essere disponibili.
- Alcune cabine hanno scale ripide o letti a soppalco, e i bagni condivisi possono richiedere una camminata sotto la pioggia o di notte.
- I dormitori possono essere caldi senza aria condizionata, e zanzare o insetti della giungla possono essere un problema.
- L'energia sociale per chi viaggia solo puo essere tranquilla, soprattutto quando il dormitorio non e pieno.
