About my experience I can say in the beginning all was good not excellent. I lived there almost 4 months and issues like bedbugs, housekeeping team and poor kitchen schedule was terrible. The people who lived there was amazing, like is a very good experience if you arrive and you want to know people that’s the perfect place and is a very good location. I experiment a very bad experience with one person of the staff, very unprofessional with me and some of the people who lived there. I suggest lived there just 2 months and try to get another place like apartment or house to lived and get a perfect experience in townsville. Any answer from the hostel is the same guys who is unprofessional with more people, just follow my suggestion.

In den Betten hatten wir Gesellschaft von Bettwanzen. Hostel ansonsten okay. Küche war immer sehr sauber.👍🏻

Good place to stay, safe, clean, good staff, affordable accommodation on a budget, no frills backpackers accommodation, good kitchen facilities, clean bed Bug free beds, great location 3 minutes walk to Wollies and local bottle shop

Nothing to rave about but this place is fine to stay a night or 2. Not close to ferry or greyhound buses but they run a shuttle. Not many socialising areas which is a downfall - you either have to sit outside (Not ideal in a tropical area with lots of rain) or in the hot, sweaty kitchen, Or in your room. Kitchen is clean with plenty of utensils. Our private room was reasonably priced although I think may have a problem with bed bugs - I never get bitten but after 2 nights here have woken up covered in little bites that are itching like mad!

Civic Guest House Backpackers Hostel funziona meglio come trampolino per Townsville: Woolworths e' vicino, i bus sono comodi, Castle Hill e' raggiungibile e i piani per Magnetic Island sono abbastanza facili con il ferry nei dintorni. L'ostello ha piscina, cucina, spazio outdoor per stare insieme, te' e caffe' gratis e frighi nelle camere, cosa davvero utile quando la situazione del frigo condiviso diventa caotica. L'umore e' misto. Nel migliore dei casi sembra pulito, rilassato, amichevole e un po' familiare, con staff caldo e aree comuni facili. Non e' un party hostel levigato, e la scena sociale puo' pendere piu' verso casa di residenti che laboratorio di caos backpacker. La qualita' delle camere varia duro. Private e dorm piu' puliti possono essere comodi, con aria condizionata, setup ensuite, codici sicuri e letti decenti. Altri dorm possono sembrare stretti o conquistati da residenti long-term, con poco spazio sugli scaffali, niente tende sui letti, prese al letto mancanti, locker deboli e rumore che passa attraverso pareti sottili.
Segnali da controllare
- La pulizia e' incostante, soprattutto in bagni, cucine, angoli dei dorm e stoviglie condivise.
- I residenti long-term possono far sembrare le camere affollate, vissute e meno aperte ai viaggiatori short-term.
- Il rumore puo' essere un vero problema di notte, soprattutto vicino ad aree sociali, corridoi o camere con scarso isolamento acustico.
- Sicurezza e setup della camera possono variare: serrature, locker, prese al letto, tende e spazio per riporre cose non sono affidabili in tutte le camere.
- Ci sono problemi ricorrenti su prenotazioni, rimborsi, accesso tardo alla reception e manutenzione non risolta.
