Welcoming smiles, inexpensive drinks, a solid kitchen, and decent wifi can only go so far. The bunks are firm, the pillows worn out, storage underneath is poor, and you pay extra for everything — even to hold a package. Their hiker box and loaner clothes are in disarray. My first stay was great. The second, however, was a nightmare: bedbugs, more than 40 bites, and an allergic reaction that made the trail feel like a constant itch. To their credit, the owners handled it professionally and made amends. Still, if you stay here, keep your pack far from the bunks and check every corner before settling in.

Book at this Hostel! I urge the community to AVOID ; 3 PEAKS HOTEL! It is a disaster! 3 PEAKS HOTEL Has NO HOT WATER! 3 PEAKS HOTEL has cockroaches and bed bugs. Steer clear! Book anywhere except the 3 Peaks Hotel! Your vacation will be destroyed by their lack of compassion and care! The female manager at the front desk is abusing the guests and not being professional or finding solutions to their property’s issues! They will blame you and not care for you and your family if you stay at their Roach Motel! Warn/Tell everyone spread the word please do not give 3 Peaks any of your Money!

Dirty room & evidence of bed bugs. The linoleum peels up in the bathroom causing a tripping hazard. The carpet is not just stained but soiled and filthy. The AC is so loud I couldn't sleep with it on. The TV remote didn't work. There was a broken closet door left outside my room and no screens on the windows. Extremely overpriced based on the poor quality of the room.

Always an excellent place to stay in South Lake Tahoe (just a few blocks from both Heavenly and the lake)! Super friendly staff, kitchen is large and well-equipped, and the dorm beds each have their own reading light (!). Most importantly, it's clean and well-kept (no worries about bedbugs)!

This is the place to stay if you are looking for cheap and reliable accomodation for some activity at South Tahoe. I prefer to sleep over here for as low as $30/night to snowboard the next day. The rooms are not fancy or high quality but they are clean and adequate for sleeping. Showers included. No bed bugs! Its also a good way to meet people. The staff is really friendly.

Mellow Mountain Hostel e' meglio conosciuto come una base economica e centrale a South Lake Tahoe. Si trova vicino alla strada principale, Heavenly Village, casinò, ristoranti, bar, birrerie, lago e accesso alla spiaggia, quindi camminare è la principale vittoria qui. Potrebbero essere disponibili buoni sconto sulla spiaggia, il che rende la posizione più utile se il piano è il tempo del lago rispetto al tempo della camera. Alcune camere hanno elementi di base pratici come un mini frigorifero, un forno a microonde, una macchina da caffè, una TV, una vasca termale o parcheggio gratuito, e il personale può essere amichevole o disponibile in ogni momento. Il compromesso è chiaro: la proprietà può sembrare vecchia, ruvida e mal mantenuta. Le camere possono avere pavimenti sporchi, tappeti o lenzuola macchiati, capelli nei bagni, fumo o odori muffe, televisori o telecomandi rotti, riscaldamento o condizionamento condizionato deboli, docce che perdono acqua, materassi usurati, buchi nelle pareti o nei pavimenti e muffe nel bagno. Anche gli spazi e le cucine condivisibili possono essere grassi, scarsamente provvisti o scomodi. Questa non e' la versione fantasia di Tahoe. E' una scelta prima di tutto per la posizione, prima per il budget, con un rischio di caos reale: muri sottili, notti rumorose, accesso limitato alla reception, parcheggio affollato, commissioni a sorpresa e la qualità delle camere che può cambiare drasticamente.

- La pulizia è un grave rischio ricorrente, specialmente nei pavimenti, nei bagni, nelle lenzuola, nei tappeti e nelle cucine.
- I problemi di manutenzione possono includere televisori rotti, telecomandi, prese elettriche, riscaldatori, condizionatori, idraulici, porte, finestre, apparecchiature e materassi usurati.
- Il rumore può essere un problema da stanze vicine, passi al piano superiore, feste rumorose, muri sottili e attività in zona stradale.
- L'accesso alla reception può essere limitato, specialmente nel tardo pomeriggio, e il servizio può sembrare incoerente.
- Il parcheggio può essere affollato e possono essere applicati costi aggiuntivi per animali domestici, depositi, deposito di pacchi o parcheggio vicino per una notte.
- Alcune stanze potrebbero non corrispondere alle foto o sembrare molto più vecchie del previsto.
